You really should read that last thread I linked to in it's entirety....the entire procedure is already laid out.

If you try to step up from a smaller already-cut hole to a 3" now, I dunno how yer gunna center it. Use 3" frum th' git-go and yer dun in one clean shot.

Oh well .. mebbie next time ....

oh ye of little faith! i will make it work and i will use a 3' on the pass side, no worries at all.thats why i'm takin my time! will post bucket pics later today

Atchully, thay's a comp'ny name o' Spyder whut makes a hole saw whur a feller kin bore 'im outta hole bigger'n tha edsistin' hole. We buy thur wares fer distribution to innerdependernt hardwarr stores 'n sichy. Cain't know if'n the big boxes kirry thur stuff er not. Purty new stuff.

I would just cut the bottom where the solenoid is instead of trying to make the hole bigger.

Watch out, as you go farther you run the risk of your bulb connectors hitting the inner support brace.

I like 2 7/8" but 3" works well, do not go any larger.

With 2 7/8" and the notch, Should look something like this.

Cutting the notch for the solenoid will allow you to center the projector top to bottom as well.

Where can I find info on this process of holding the stock reflector and what it does to help in the retrofit.

Edit: I meant the picture not the hole cutting info. (picture didn't want to quote on the app i guess)
