Good idea! I will use this method when I put RX350s in my new Focus ST. They have a much rounder bowl then the FXR so this will save me time.

The FX-R is based off the Infiniti projector but you can get OEM units from time to time. Lexus is god-tier when it comes to that, I believe the Ls460s are the crem-de-la-crem

I know the aftermarket if you will has reversed engineered the majority of their products from OEM parts so to speak. I am considering doing a retrofit on my motorcycle, I have everything necessary other than a projector. There are many broken destroyed housings on ebay, I might pick one up and attempt this as well.

The only difference between the two should be the lens size and up front. From the mounting holes back should be the same projector.

If the projector bowl was bigger the 3" would out shine the 2.5" when in fact it's opposite. The focal point is not made for the 3" lens so the 2.5" is in fact better. You wouldn't notice the difference anyways unless the 2 projectors were next to each other. The 3" lens will fill the headlight bowl better and that's enough reason for me to pick them over the 2.5"

I bought a 3" hole saw today and it fits the finished opening that I have cut and sanded. I think when this is all done I will put together a better how to than this, but the end of semester is looming and I have three research papers to complete first.

So finally got around to testing alignment last night and here is the results straight off the bench and into the truck. The right projector needs to be rotated as it is not level but the left looks good.

Right

installed, complete.
The blue Leds are on a separate switch.
These soon will be listed in the Classified section, I just wanna put 10-20 hours on them and make sure there are no issues. I already have plans on the next set.

Good ideas here. Been thinking of doing a 3rd set of retrofits and doing something different.

Very please with the work on the lamps. I'm happy overall, still on the fence about doing retro fogs as well. I need to get pictures on the lamps up
