We've been having some crappy weather lately... I really like these. The stock lights had a better pattern, tho...

I put 9005 SS ultras in my fogs... If you twist hard enough, you don't have to cut the tab. They are almost too bright.

With everything aimed and on, I have a hilarious beam pattern. There's a really bright V directly in front of the truck, and then a dimmer pattern further out with 2 hot spots down the road.

I'd be careful. Those 65W can and will deform/melt those housings. They are too small to handle the heat.

Yea, I am worried about that. I read most of the threads I could find on the subject, and all the info I could find was for the newer bodystyle. The round fogs were melting most of the time, and the rectangular fogs were getting warm, while the overwhelming consensus was to get a set of HID fogs.

I only found a few posts for my ?? 99-03 ?? fog lights and those guys seemed to be successful.

I'd go back to 9145s if I were you. You won't tell much of a difference between the two.

I was looking at getting this same setup, but now that I read this and see this comment I'm wondering if i should. If the light pattern is off like this, does it cause you any problems in foul weather? Do you have or can you get any pics of the pattern at night?
thanks

Thanks, any issues with the headlights and their projection at all?

If the fogs are aimed as they are in Raptor's thread, then visibility is great. The difference in brightness is very noticeable.

The pattern I was describing was with the headlights AND foglights on. The "bright V" pattern directly in front of the truck describes the fogs.

I already spent the money on 9005's, but with hindsight, the stock bulbs make more sense. Much less risky...

That being said... my housings are staying relatively cool. I did not modify any of the tabs, so the bulb seats correctly in the foglight. Lastly, they are very bright.

Pictures later.

Looks good. Be careful with that clear reflector. DOT regulation requires an amber reflector. Not sure how strict your local laws are. Also, I always tried to find a light with free shipping. They usually work out to be cheaper.
