Well if you can't see get a rear camera and monitor. Also you could put rear facing roof lights angled properly to help you out.

You can get a rear camera and monitor for less than $50. Those things are cheap.

They make a tailgate handle that comes with a hole for a rear view camera if you go with one. I would think that you can get a good camera and monitor for around $100. Or you can get some cheap fog lights and mount them under your rear bumper. Several people on here have bought $20 fog lights from walmart and mounted them under the bumper and said they increased the light by alot.

You can just get an aftermarket camera kit from autozone or some store and that will work. I also got my roof lights at advanced auto for $20

Running the wires isn't too hard, expecially since you have a lifted truck. There is a factory wiring harness that runs from the back of the truck along the drivers side frame rail to the bottom of the drivers door. Under the drivers door there is a rubber grommet that sticks out about an inch, and if you cut a X in it, you can slip the wires through there and up through the kick panels to the monitor.

Lights will help you see the area you are backing into at night. A camera will let you see what is right behind you. If you get a camera, be sure to get one that lets you see at night. Or you can do both.

yeah I was thinking about getting both. do license plate cameras look trashy? what is the best style to go with?
would projectors on the rear bumper be overkill?

Projectors would be a bit overkill, unless you always drive in reverse. They make some nice led lights for that. But its your truck, do whatever you want.
