97-03 F150 Double Din Installation Guide
#46
I installed my unit yesterday in the daytime, I get ready to go pick up my sister at the airport and realized that the 2nd adapter I didnt plug into provides all the dash lights and all.
I have the metra kit and only had one connecter, so thats all I connected. I gotta figure out how to get my lights back today, and schosche doesnt share manuals online . Anyone have the wiring diagrams from the unit for the second (Instrument Panel) connector?

Are you saying your dash doesn't light up anymore? You must have blown or removed a fuse.

Radio Bezel - where can i find it?
Final pics with some close ups for gap inspection. Overall I am VERY pleased. I have received numerous compliments and remarks on how it looks OEM. Not to mention the unit gives the interior a newer truck feel. Gap is most evident on the right side, but only from the passenger seat and at a certain angle. Maybe 2-3mm, and not noticable from the drivers seat. I have to point it out to most people. I cant see any way of eliminating it, perhaps with a custom cut bezel. But I'm REALLY being picky here. I think the tolerances are better than some OEM units I've seen.
And that's all folks! The entire process took two evenings after work, maybe 4hrs max. I couldn't be happier and I am very glad I did it, especially considering the money I saved and the extra attention to detail.
Post up any questions!

I most likely will not be looking for a GPS capable unit next time as my phone has the extremely good Google Navigation, which should help keep the costs down and further justify the swap.
Glad to see this old thread I started is still offering some use for members!! Thanks for all the compliments!!

Thank you, but the Scosche FD1330B was an install kit.
I'm trying to find the Turtlewood outer bezel / trim. Know where i can find that one? anyone?

I have been reading over this thread because I have wanted to do this in my navigator for a while. Finally got a good deck (kenwood dnx9960) and I measured everything out. I think I want to route my wires behind the hu before I do the full install. I might need a few hours. Great write up tho.
