"A 17xx ( $300) + a Scanguage ($150) + some DWV stock ($10) = still cheaper than the Edge"

Ahemmm....GB, I think that is what's called...a.......sarcasim.

Even your average cavebear is smarter than to stick some drain gutter pipe on to replace an engineered intake. Even if it was designed to make the female cavebear say......WOW!.

I'm not sure I understand your post? Are you being sarcastic saying that people are too smart to use some drainage pipe as an intake on their trucks? They did it. DWV stands for something like "D"rain "W"aste "V"= something, I cant remember. It's a home made intake people were doing on here a few months ago. You could do the whole thing for less than $20( I think ) with misc. parts from Home Depot. I couldn't believe when I read that thread that so many people were doing that "mod".

I had my 01 Mustang tuned by JDM Performance the best of the best jeered the corral.net A buddy hooked up his Superchips on my car and neither of us could tell any difference. I spent 450 on a chip and he spent something like 250.

If you take the time to datalog hours of data then a custom tune would be better. But I'm sure troyer isn't doing anything special without any datalog info. Now for all of you who waisted the money to buy a troyer chip you should be happy with it and stop bashing people for wanting something different.

Hi GB - it's a looong story. Try a Search for 'cavemen', for giggles.

Anyways, Joey & I go back a bit - at least in Internet time . And he is a lot smarter than I am, and ever so much more articulate.

So yes it was sarcasm - I do a lot of that, I might add. Seems to pass the time. To me DWV = Damn Waste of a Vent.

Sorry if I was too subtle.

And to all whom I've inadvertently offended - I am not slamming the Edge, I'm just trying to point out it's relative position in the food chain, given available info to date.

I'm always open to valid performance testing results, and butt-dynos are NOT included in that list.

.

Agreed.. for a Good tune - but I will maintain that Mike Troyer is the man if you want the BEST tune for your F150. That is beyond needing explanation and confirmation. Others may indeed be very good, but Mike is truly gifted and also has the most experience, period. Someone has to be the Best - it happens to be him.

Your not liking to hear that in no way alters the fact that it is true. Nor do I care, really. I'm just trying to help put some perspective on this, is all.

Cheers
Grog

i.e. the first line.

though --

"I'm always open to valid performance testing results, and butt-dynos are NOT included in that list."

No sarcasim implied, or intended, I do believe.

I must admit, Grog, I am very much entertained by this thread. Way more interesting to read than going through the archives yet again.

And so far, Mike(the "I hate to re-type stuff cuz I'm so busy") has yet to come on tell for the brazillionth(how many is a brazillion? You'd have to ask our president, W. ) time how he's done more F150 tuning than any person since the age of ice.

Beers all around.

Ego still smarting after your scolding over in the Chips forum, eh?

Whatever, ***-9 .... you'll never know 'cause it's none of your business. Suffice it to say I really enjoy my TP custom-tuned SCT product.

Regardless of numbers, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, opinions of others, etc....., when you can say that, then you made a good choice. And THAT'S all that really matters.

Here's to everyone finding what they really enjoy.

I don't know your past history with astrina but he is 100% correct unless you have datalogged then you don't truly have a custom tune.

I'm sure Mike can do a good job with datalog info but without it you are getting a generic tune.
