INPUT NEEDED: How Many People Would Want a "Lightning R" hood?
Any word on the movement of the louvers/scoop? Some folks were wondering if a hood could be ordered without the louvers, or the scoop located farther back on the hood. Thanks again.
P.S. I am interested if you didn't know.

Another compromise would be to let them overlap somewhat, with all of the louvers being functional on the passenger side and maybe only half of them being functional on the driver's side (so there would be 9 functional louvers and 3 cosmetic louvers total).
Keystone's technical staff will determine how far back the scoop should be, but I think it will make life simpler for the plumbing if it's located as far forward as possible. The project hasn't been authorized yet, so we're not at the stage where final placement of the scoop and louvers can be determined yet. We'll cross that bridge when we get there I guess.

I'm not sure how easy it is to adapt the mold for louver-less design in the middle of a production run, but it may be possible. I'm still trying to get the "basic" design approved by them first before discussing other custom variations.

Well well
I just bought my new 03 Lightning today, right off the showroom floor. Been lookin for the first "real" mod. If this hood goes into production, I am in. I would for sure though like to see a non-louver model, I would be much more interested in that one, but if the louvers were moved back a little bit...then count me in...it is SAWEET

Supporting Vendor????
This hood is a concept, it does not exist!!
This is what this forum is about, helping Lightning Enthusiasts, PERIOD!!
I could understand if a member was attempting to sell his/her product w/o being a "Supporting Vendor", but a member that has a dream to develop a hood for the fellow L members is again the core of this forum.
This forum, I would like to believe, is not ALL about dollars and cents.

Before we all get over-excited
, I should mention that Steve has been kind enough to grant us the ability to continue discussing this project in the "Group Purchases" forum here.
I think if you had already subscribed to the "old" thread, you will still be notified if someone posts on the new thead. You may want to verify your subscription in your
preferences section at the top of your page, or re-subscribe for good measure if you want to stay in the loop. We won't get as much visibility on the GP forum, but at least we can still use this online medium to share notes about the hood project. Good enough for me! Thanks Doug/Steve!
