Well, there are more than 100 interested people, and if the price of the plug was figured into the price of the hood, like maybe 50 or 75 dollars more per hood to cover the plug, it might not be too bad. I just want a hood not many others have. If I have to build my own hood from the stock one, I have the technology.

From these modeling processes, Roush is able to construct High Temperature Epoxy Glass Laminate Tooling and Polyester Glass Tooling.

or these guys?

http://www.compositeshop.com

If I remember correctly back when I was looking at doing a carbon fiber hood, they told me like $600 for the mold and then $600 per hood?

worth a shot?

chris

I contacted Roush and the Composite Shop as suggested, but so far no word. I'll post an update here if they reply, no matter what their response is.

Question

AWESOME
Think it would fit a plain old '02 SCREW? if not, any other ideas where to get similar ones without having to opt for the silly Lund stick-ons?

Theoretically, I would think it could fit any 97-03 F150 in any configuration (Screw, reg cab, etc) and Expedition.

I contacted a lot of vendors and manufacturers when this thread surfaced again last time, but only heard back from a handful and none seemed very interested at all (they were more interested in seeing if I'd be willing to help them design other stuff for them in the future). I guess the world doesn't revolve around the Lightning community and its interests. It's not looking too good right now, but I'll resume my campaign with earnest again next week and see if anyone will bite this time. But it's hard enough getting my foot in the door. That's why I still think it would be better if someone else on this forum (who is connected in industry or knows someone who is) helps get the ball rolling. If you're out there reading this, please help us!
