Are we (the forum) dead?
That's sorta like how the VW Vortex is set up. The problem here is F-150s got cheap and lots of kids bought them. When I first joined here I was one of the youngest people on here. Then most folks acted like adults, now that a lot of young punks can afford a 1998-2003 F-150 they come here. The maturity level went down and a lot of the older crowd quit coming. There's still a few left here but not many.
Same here. I've learned too much from this site and even though I haven't been around too long, I know this site has it's up's and down's and there's no point in leaving when it's down because it'll just draw me back again. By far one of the best forums I've joined.
I could not imagine the forum any more active. I have a hard time keeping up as it is (some days its slow but I have to get work done sometime right!)
There is a detailing forum that I'm a member of and honestly I don't even look at it anymore because every time you hit the "New Posts" button there is 11 pages that pops up and who the hell wants to browse through 11 pages of threads! Aint nobody got time for that!
There is a lot of great information that goes on in this site and as far as duplicate posting ... .everybody gets so pissed off at it why? What if somebody new signs up and sees that post and has a different approach to the problem or an opinion that is better then what has been said so far? Is that not how to improve on things?
This is the only forum that I post on for F150's, but I have googled and go to the competition for some answers on certain issues I'm having with the truck.

It will pick up again next election.
I left for a little bit, but came back recently. The forum was on a decline when I left, but it almost felt like a ghost town when I came back. The lack of posts in the GD forum might be the big change for me. They were a nice change of pace to the rest of the truck related posts. Especially when it feels like the majority of the truck related posts on this site are reposts.
I haven't started any threads in a long time, so I could share some of the blame.
I also blame the app, and lack of tapatalk support. I'd probably be a lot more active if they had enabled tapatalk. I'm not in front of the computer as much anymore, but I browse multiple forums using tapatalk on my phone. The app they gave us instead, wouldn't be so bad if it actually worked properly. It's still very lacking compared to tapatalk though.

This is the only Ford Truck Forum I am a member of and I have found most everything I am looking for here but I too have Googled a few problems and ended up on other sites doing some reading.
It is summertime and most people are outside. I usually only make it on here at work in between doing actual work. I expect things will pick up again in the fall.
I don't waste my time with threads that have no sentence structure and capitals at the beginning of a sentence either. If I look and it is hard to read I move on. I am not as hard on spelling errors as some but I have misspelled more than a few words myself.

This is the only automotive forum I hang around on. I do hang out on a couple tech/game forums and infrequently a boat one when I am having an issue in that area of things. Mostly just here and my tech forums though.
I may not contribute as much as others (tech articles n such), and my job as a salesman has forced me to not post as often but I visit here multiple times a day and every single F-150 I sell, I give the guy or gal this website. I have learned so much about both my truck, and mechanics in general that ill never be able to repay everyone who has answered my questions and otherwise helped me out. I've answered multiple customer questions using this site as my third-party validation, and though I've noticed a slowing, I think this site is FAR from dead.
Summertime means outside, beers with friends, blockbusters at the theatres, and for me, a WHOLE lot more customers
, so I agree with Ross that it is a factor. But I would say this place has much gas left in the tank. Long live F150Online!!!

Pockets, I welcome having multiple threads on some things. All the points you raised are perfectly fine and I completely agree with. But, when someone says that they have a 2wd 2006 5.4 and they're gonna do a 2" level and want to fit the biggest tire possible, there are 10 other threads EXACTLY identical to every piece of information in the post. That is what's slightly irritating.
The app is horrible. I have it downloaded, but I get asked to download it again by that screen every 20 minutes. But I never use it because the structuring of it is so bad.
I used a thread from F150forum for my long tube install because we don't have one

I've talked about that and admitted it. But if you'd like, you can consider me someone that "joined" in 2010 and never posted until March 2013. It got to the point where I was reading all kinds of articles and checking things multiple days a week, I just never felt the need to join and post because I was content with observing and reading
