This is all about what the economy ratings and upcharge will be. It is a $4500 option on the Grand Cherokee, so if the Ram has a similar upcharge I think they may have a hard time selling many of these. WITH THAT SAID, I still applaud them for having the ***** to actually do this....

I'd love to see a Powerstroke in an F150...

Ah. Diesels have been in 1/2 tons in Europe for years.

Welcome to the 80's.

Thats awesome! Wish ford would follow with one. Its sad, over seas you can get a 4 door Ranger with a diesel.

I welcome dodge doing this. Competition is what brings worthy products to us consumers and can bring prices into perspective. If dodge captures enough of sales from this move then all others will have to follow and possibly offer more options to stay on top. What would be great is if someone could come out with a true flex fuel truck that could run on Gas or Diesel.

There is apparently a deisel option in the Transit van which is supposed to be out later this year. I don't see any reason they wouldn't at least consider using a variant of it in other platforms. Maybe the 2015 F150.

The Transit diesel is a 3.2 liter 5 cylinder Powerstroke built in South Africa. US hp/tq is not announced yet, but in Europe it's 197/347.

Exactly, plus gasoline is cheaper to purchase, gas stations more available, cheaper to maintain BY FAR, no DPF's, no Urea... I do not like diesels. Had one never go back

Lets also not forget about the $5-8k upcharge.
