You are who you are. Seems like kids don't stand a chance in this neighborhood. They have to watch they're back.

There isn't a line in the sand.
Do you think guns are bad too? You're exercising the same logic as the Antigun crowd. Not all things are all good or all bad. There is a middle ground.

So, the definition is incorrect and should be changed ? Is that what your trying to say?

Of course there's many forms of it, no brainer; I'm not stupid, - I really hope not. Confident enough with it that I don't need to call every Tom, Dank and Sally to figure that one out.

So, a little abuse is just fine correct? What level would that be? Level 1 perhaps? Is there a rating ?

Not by definition, not that I see. Rather, -it spells it out, simply.
I thought I would never say this about you;
You could not be any more wrong about this.

Unless you see it up close and personal, having this conversation with you is ( as the saying goes ) on par with having a conversation about sex with the Pope. It is a theoretical conversation from one side.

So while I did not experience abuse, I know the end results from discipline and have seen up close the end results of abuse.

Same as before, night and day cannot begin to describe comparing the two.

To even hint at I was abused as a child is discounting everything that those who are actually are abused experience every day.

That makes me want to puke.

Ok. Told myself I was done here, but let's try explaining this in terms you might understand.

'Brew. Your tranny was in really bad shape, right? You were on the verge of having to replace it. Then, someone convinced you to try Amsoil, and it 'cured' your problem! Fantastic! It worked for you!

Does this mean that people who use another fluid (method) are wrong and their methods are wrong? Hell no! What works for some may not work for others. Just the way it is. It doesn't mean that everybody else is an idiot who doesn't know what they're doing.

The logic behind labeling everyone who spanks their children when it's warranted as an 'abuser' is so flawed that I can't fully relate just how ridiculous it seems to those of us who KNOW it works. I guarantee you the poor kids who WERE actually abused know the difference.

Say you had a lot of trouble with your Ford, and because of that, you conclude that all Fords are junk. Is that a logical assumption? Just because someone is different than you doesn't mean they're always wrong. I'm not quite sure how a feller can even function normally exercising logic this faulty.

Look, I never said YOU were 'wrong' by raising your kids the way you feel is right. If it works for you, outstanding! That doesn't mean you should stamp a wholesale 'child abuser' label on someone for doing it differently.

What SCULLY said is absolutely true. What you've done is effectively minimalized the extreme cases of kids who actually are unmercifully abused. I don't know what would be more offensive: You lumping my fantastic parents into a group of deplorable, dispicable, TRUE abusers or you saying a spanking is the same thing as constant, brutal beatings, burnings, etc. Ironically, I believe if i had actually been abused as a kid, your posts would be even more offensive to me.

It's not even close to the same thing, and I actually find it hard to believe that a full-grown man - who can read and write and drive a car and hold a job, etc - REALLY doesn't know the difference.

Sometimes, I think you're contrary just for the sake of being contrary.

Well, let's just make our soldiers trade their weapons for sling shots and rocks. Then, we'll see how long you enjoy the freedom to exercise your OPINIONS!

Yep. ALL guns are bad, alright! Explain that one to the criminals who WILL have them no matter what the law says.

This.

Like i said i was spanked MAYBE 4 or so times in my child hood, it was rightfully deserved and i straightened the hell up.

Am i afraid of my dad? Hell no, we have a pretty good relationship.

Every parent it seems now days think their little angel can do no wrong. A kid should not be rewarded for doing things he should already be doing, just because he has a bad attitude about it.

You keep doing that with your eyes and they'll stick like that. You may end up looking worse than your IQ.

Like I said, -unless you change the definition, you made the cut. That's just the way it is, like or lump it.

When it comes right down to it. All you are trying to do is make beating children the correct thing to do.It's a form of abuse no matter how you slice it. Being this far gone in denial says it all.

Proud to be beat and most likely carrying on tradition. Yea, humanity has it problems, - worse than I thought..

Jeez, Brew - go take a chill pill! Why do you have the attitude that you are always right and everyone else is wrong? It's not just in this thread!

I and a LOT of other people respect your views, but you sure aren't respecting anyone else's unless they exactly parallel yours. That's just WRONG.

It's pretty hypocritical to be against physical abuse when he is verbally abusing all of our views .

I don't want these peoples respect. My kids and I are better off without it. So you beat on your kids as well ? That's just great.

No your absolutely wrong.

Anyone else?
