What about if she put it in cruise control?

Mr. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City. In November 2000, Mr. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32 foot Winnebago motor home. On his first trip home, having joined the freeway, he set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee. Not surprisingly, the Winnie left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mr. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising him in the handbook that he could not actually do this.
He was awarded $1,750,000 plus a new Winnebago. (Winnebago actually changed their handbooks on the back of this court case, just in case there are any other complete morons buying their vehicles.)

Actually, if you go to Ford's Fleet site, and read the older owners manuals, you'll gets some laughs too.

It's not Fords or Winnebago's fault that people are Darwin's next victim.

Oh ya I remember that. That's like saying redlights don't say STOP and GO. They just have different colors on there.

psychological tests prove that its not just looking at the road that creates the endangerment of the driver, its the fact they are concentrating on what they are saying in the text and trying to pay attention to the road at the same time and if something were to happen reactions are waaay slower. neural transmitters are not fast enough to switch from texting to reacting fast enough in most people...not saying all people...but most lol

So if you carry on a conversation with the guy in the passenger seat, essentially it's the same thing...exactly why i say there are so many other things that are just as distracting.

i don't know about you but if im textin while im on the road i'm a lot less distracted than talking on the phone to someone. when on the phone your constantly talking to the person and usually holding the phone to your ear and im a lot more focused on the conversation during a phone call. while texting i simply type a short one sentence message that takes a few seconds then put the phone down for however long it takes for the other person to respond. i generally only do it at stop lights or roads with barely any traffic though just because i don't want to be distracted and have the possibility of a wreck.

The actually settlement between McDonald's and Stella Liebeck (sp?)
will never be known. It is estimated to be less than 600,000 dollars. Some legal minds guess Stella might have received 100,000 of that total with lawyers collecting the remainder.

The coffee she spilled on herself was proven to be brewed to 185 degrees. The coffee institute claims coffee should be brewed between 190 and 210 degrees for optimum taste.

I got this from wiki.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck...;s_Restaurants
Not an official source but close enough.
The lawyers probably threw a gag order on the settlement amount.

Texting and reading compared to driving under the influence of alcohol....
