Tornado watch in phoenix

Pretty awesome. Were under a tornado watch until tonight. Calling for 3-4 more inches of rain on top of the 2-3 we've already gotten with this storm. Saying up to 10-16 feet of snow up in Flagstaff with the storm. This is freaking awesome...and all the arizona natives are FREAKING OUT lol. Backhoes and dumptrucks are rolling and people are digging their basements haha. But seriously, its pretty cool. This storm will probably be more rain the we get the rest of the year. Awesome birthday present for me.

Holy crap - that's some serious weather.

I stayed in Tucson a few years ago - drove up to the Canyon & back one day. I love that state.

Is Li'l Abner's still in bidness (just north of Tuscon)...?

Tornado watch doesn't mean much. Tornado warning is when you've gotta pay attention. When you see funnel clouds, that's when you get worried.

Li'l Abner's is still here, as far as I know. It's been a LONG time since I was there. (I honestly prefer my own steaks!)

Phoenix/Sky Harbor is closed to all flights right now - and we have a friend who was staying with us who was supposed to fly out of there this evening - to London!

50 inches of snow and 80 mph winds up on Mt Lemon. Sounds like a challenge. I'll bet the weather man is excited to have some interesting weather to talk about.

Tornado watches mean it's gonna rain. Tornado warnings mean get to the door and look for em coming.

Same here in San Diego. I am a flag football coach for elementary kids after school and I had about 7 players today and I usually have about 20 or so. All the parents are freaking out and picking up there kids and being way over protective. I remember when the weather got bad I still had to walk or ride my bike. And of course no tornado or hurricane or any of that.

Stupid question. But we have warning sirens here, much like WWII air raid sirens. Do other parts of the Country have similar systems, or is this just a Tornado Ally type of thing?
