No worries fatties....looks like Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" Campaign will help you fend off the fat. With the POTUS, Michelle, and the special interest groups behind this movement....I see nothing but huge improvement in making you a better and healthier person. Everything this adminstration touches is gold! Bet on it!!

I'm dragging this thread out of the cellar to see how you all are doing, and give some updates on my progress:

On 1/6 I came home from work pretty disgusted with myself, at 286lbs. I'm 6'6 and have a wide set of shoulders, so even at this size I was only a size xl shirt and 38/40 pants.

Last Wednesday I weighed in at 262.4. I didn't exactly eat great this weekend while visiting my folks, but I'm hoping for something in the vicinity of 260-261 when I weigh in on Wednesday morning.

My initial goal was 250, but now I'm thinking something in the range of 240 would be better. Like others have posted, I have a very large frame body type, and will never look skinny. I was hoping to be at 250 for my girlfriend's birthday on 4/11, which I definitely think is more than doable, and am actually hoping to perhaps be in the 247-248 range by that date instead.

I run 3-6 miles twice a week, two days of HIIT elliptical training, two days of lifting, a spin class, and usually some other activity at least once during the week. When summer rolls around I'll be able to add biking and softball back into the mix, which will help.

congrats bheemsoth, I to am working on the weight loss plan. I was up to about 255 two and a half years ago and I lost down to 215. Well through shift work and a baby in to the mix and about 15lbs are back on and I am pissed. I started exercising and dieting again last week so we will see were this takes me.

Keep up the good work, it feels great doesn't it.

Sorry for the insanely long wait on my progress. I did reach my goal of 220lbs by January 20th. I have not worked out on a regular basis since then, but somehow have managed to keep my weight down to 216lbs. I still feel like a fatty after losing 60lbs though, so I know that I need to hit the weights and cardio again to change my body composition to more muscle and less fat. At least I don't LOOK like a fatty anymore though since I'm 6'3". ;-)

Okay guys, I stayed stuck at 307 since my last post in Feb. Actually fluctuating down to 307 and up to 312, until 2 weeks ago... A Wii and Wii Fit board / disk came into the house which LOML and I have been using daily. I like the boxing workout, as well as some of the other silly workouts. I am doing mostly the cardio workouts right now, and throwing in a little bit of the strength training. I have finally tripped under 300 lbs solidly for more than 3 days straight now. Starting Saturday morning at 299.8, then yesterday at 299.6, and today again at 299.6.

For you lighter guys you may be thinking big freaking deal. If you've ever been this big, you will agree, getting under 300 lbs IS a big freaking deal... And making forward momentum is always a good thing...

For those that care about it, my plan is pretty simple.

#1. Diet via the Weight Watchers plan. No Weight Watchers isn't just for chicks... My Dr. actually gave me a referral... It works, it's slow, but that is a good thing. I NEVER want this weight back again, and I am making life style changes, not just dieting...
#2. Excersize. So far has been limited to walks / bike rides in the neighborhood (as you can imagine, I am hard on a bicycle...) Tae Bo, and Wii Fit in the living room, and soon will be swimming in the evenings after work in the community pool.
#3. Monitoring / adjustment with my physician. I am losing this weight with the help of a physician, including certain meds that are trying to straighten up an imbalance that has made weight gain far too easy, and weight loss far too difficult...
#4. Set reasonable, attainable goals. I see so many of you guys are saying things like... "I'm 260 and I want to get down to 185" or something similar. I am not going to do that to myself. I am aiming at the next 5 lbs, and then the 5 after that, and the 5 after that... Yes the long term goal is to be under 200, but I am not going to make that all in one shot, but a bunch of little shots, and now it is less than 100lbs away!

Best of luck to the rest of you folks, keep up the good work, and don't give up!

I can now post in this thread with out being embarrassed. A couple weeks ago, I got a good deal on a bowflex and when I workout, I eat healthier. So....

I'm down 10 lbs in 2 weeks!! Down to 235 and going to work for my goal of 200 by the end of June. (The beach trip). And I am getting stronger, currently I'm getting 2" of "pump" on my arms.

Congrats on all the progress guys! I'm glad to see this thread picking up traffic again.

I'm currently at 242, which puts me down about 45lbs since the beginning of the year, and about 90lbs since 2005. At 6'6 I'm finally (almost) wearing my weight well and may finally feel thin in another 15-20lbs.

I'm also getting ready to run my first half marathon in a few weeks. Hopefully it will go well!

Down 3.4lbs this week to 238.6, making this my best week in over a month! My original goal was 250, then I moved it down to 235, but I will need to lower it again I think. At 3.6lbs over my goal, I have a small gut still, and a bit of love handles. I think 225 may be a good target.

I'll post...

First time poster, long time fatty...

I started out at 284 a year and a half ago. I dropped down to 265 over 6 months then just kinda hovered there. My wife does weight watchers and has maintained her goal weight for a couple years now, so she convinced me to join after New Years. Down to 237 now, and I've gone from a size 38/40 pant to a 34/36. I've plateaued for the last 4 weeks, but I'm beginning to kick up the exercise more, and golf and dirtbike season has just started, so hopefully that'll give me the boost I need to lose some more. My goal is 195-200.

Any progress updates guys?

As of this morning I reached my next sub-goal - 236 lbs (a 50 lb loss since 01/05/10). I have my half marathon on Saturday, and am hoping to reach 225 lbs (and a BMI of 25) by July 4.

How are you guys all doing? Beach weather is nearly here!

235.2 as of Saturday. Gotta weigh in Friday afternoon this week but I'm hoping to be down a pound or two. 2 disc protrusions in my back have kind of hampered my exercise regiment a little so I'm down to mostly walking now (and the occasional golf when I get a little daring/stupid).

Looks like I'm gaining on you...you're only .8lbs up on me now
