Pretty close, but a little further West from West Point. We went to the Eno River State Park

I really like the Lose It! app. I've had it for maybe 6 months or more, my biggest problem is falling behind a little bit, then just not recording anything for weeks at a time. I'm going to do better about that this time around as well.

Have also been trying to lose some weight like many others and this summer was able to lose ten pounds.Where I had success was at tracking the foods I was actually eating and figuring out what I needed.Livestrong.com has my daily plate which is how I kept track.Worked for me and I also got a book from Costco the "Eat this Not that" which gives great alternatives to everything you can imagine.

Thanks to whomever on a earlier post said they had a bet with a friend hopefully imma cut about 30lbs too. I discussed with about 6 officers and supervisors at work on a little draw 100 dollar bill for the first person to loose 30lbs. Were all gonna pitch in on the pot. Thanks man!

Day 6

Got to the gym yesterday morning for a lower body day. Started out with 15 minutes on the bike to warm up, then did hyper extensions (back), squats, deadlifts, leg presses, hamstring curls, leg extensions and bicep curls.

It hurts to walk today plus it's cold and raining again, so I think I'm just going to kick back around the house this weekend.

I'll weigh in again on Monday before going to the gym.

I just started going to the gym on monday, lifted 4 days and swam 3 of those 4 days. Totally cut out pop and cutting down my portions substantially. Lost 18 lbs this past week. Im weighing in at 362 right now, plan is to be 275 by this time next year.

Day 8

Had a bad weekend as far as getting healthy is concerned. Ate too much, drank too much and didn't work out at all. :o

Ended up weighing in at 167.9 this morning. Doh!

I'm still on schedule at the gym though. Went this morning and did a 12 minute warmup on the bike, then did chest and triceps. Shoulder rotations, bench press, dumbbell press, chest fly, decline bench press and tricep extensions.

Of course, as soon as I start going back to the gym, my company decides to send me to Charleston, SC for a week. Hopefully the hotel will have a gym.

Slow and steady man. You don't want to get hurt or burnt out.

My Charleston trip was postponed, so here we are...

Day 11

Back to the gym yesterday morning. 10 minute warm up on the bike followed by pullups, t-bar rows, dumbbell shoulder press, machine shoulder press, dumbbell raises, and bicep curls.

How are things going for the rest of you? Good, bad, ugly?

Okay. I'll bite. It's a bad time of year to try to make these changes (gosh, food is everywhere right now... cookies here, banana bread there...) but, with the recent addition of some medication that isn't helping my cause, I think it'd be good to track myself - and have some support (do you guys do that for a guy that runs the site?) from fellow heavy-weights...

I'm 6'2" 265lbs at the Dr on Monday. I played Div I soccer about 10 years ago -- where I was 180 and could run 5 miles in under 30 mins consistently. Now, I'd be lucky to make it around the track once without having to walk for 200m.

My plan - that has already been ongoing since stepping on the scale on Monday - is to cut out the Mt. Dew (and other soft drinks -- I'm a habitual Mt. Dew drinker though) and to try to make better choices with my diet (going grilled rather than fried and not biggie sizing when I have to hit the McD's of the world (my job has me on the run a lot too)). Further, I'm trying to exercise not only for some weight loss but for some stress management (work).

I used to take great care of myself... then I graduated college, got a real job, and got married. That was all three strikes... time to get back in the game (isn't that what Marino says on the Nutri System commercial?)

So true on time of year. That has so much to do with it as not everyone can work out consistently due to other responsibilities. It's all about free time. I'm a fellow heavyweight and you have my support. My last exam is tomorrow morning (well, this morning) at 8:00 and I'm officially done for the semester.

I'm going to be jumping back into the routine (diet + workout). It's been one heck of a semester and I have literally quit working out. I'm 6'5" and when it started to get tough I was at a pretty healthy 225lbs after a summer of dieting (down from 260ish). I just stepped on my scale and let's just say I'm pushing the third digit (no one said anything about the 'Senior Fifteen...times four'). Luckily my height doesn't show weight as much but with the shirt off it's sad. Just haven't had time lately and fast food has been way too convenient. It's expected with a semester full of poor dieting and little to no exercise, though.

No biggie, though. If I lost it before I can lose it again. We will do this.

Steve, if you don't mind I would like to start keeping my log in this thread for a little extra motivation boost. After my last final tomorrow I'll be setting up my workout and diet. If you're cool with it I'll post daily updates. When I am into it I am very serious about it.

RP's a fat ***

Just playing Brad... I'll tell ya. I used to be a little bigger, not huge at all, but it made me work out hard and I found a sport I love (cycling) because of it. I have been toning up and improving my running. I am getting a more aggressive build and seeing more and more results. I am ahead of you guys in that sense, but I'll be your drill Sargent if you guys need motivation. It's a lot of work but you feel better about yourself mentally and physically. Good luck guys and keep up the good work so far
