Receipt Check?
I think this all got started due to the fact that some wal-mart employes were ripping the store off for big items. They would come in load up a cart with TV's, DVD's, all kinds of electronics and goods that could be sold via. Craigslist and such. There were a few employes in on the scheme and once wal-mart uncovered it they had been doing it for months and wal-mart had lost so major merchandise and cash.
I dont mind at all. I hand them the reciept, they highlight it and I'm on my way. Usually dont even break stride.
Just curious to those that say they dont and wont do it...why not? Also to the ones that feel they are being picked out of the crowd..why is that?

Oh come on, people - it's no big deal to show a receipt - why are so many of you being so stubborn? Life is too precious to get upset over something so minor. As long as the checker is polite, I have no problem whatsoever.
Its nto that most of us are stubborn, its our RIGHT to say no. Its like an LEO asking to check your vehicle. You dont drink, smoke, or speed and hes asking to check your vehicle. You aren't hiding anything except that cheeseburger your doctor told you not to eat. But I would still say no. Its my right and I'm going to exercise it. If we don't then the government will eventually take another thing from us.
I get checked a lot but it is the way I shop that does it. I go into the Superstore and buy Slimfast (so I can lose some weight) but I pay for it at the pharmacy counter so I can avoid the long lines at the regular check out. I usually buy two boxes a trip and the pharmacy does not have bags big enough to put these things in. So I walk past the guy at the door with two cases of Slimfast under my arm, no bag and the receipt in my pocket. I only get checked 20% of the time but if they ask I do stop and show them. They are doing their job and I see no reason to be a miserable sob to them. I am not doing anything illegal and I don't feel that my rights are being violated by showing them a purchase receipt.
Now if they wanted to strip search me they would be in for a fight.

It's not a 'rights' issue.
Basically, the customer and store have a business relationship.
The retailer is asking their customers to voluntarily co-operate in a loss prevention program.
Sure, they also suffer losses from their employees, but most retailers are operating on a THIN margin these days. Curbing theft could make the difference between keeping the store open and closing it down.
If the possibility that you might get asked to show a receipt offends you so much, you should shop elsewhere.

Has anyone seen a photo of Z?
Maybe he looks shifty
A lot of these young kids today are walking around with their pants half-way down to their ****, boxers are showing, sideways baseball hat with price tag still on it and one pant leg rolled up.
I see the way you kids walk around, I'd be patting each of youse down against the wall if I was the Wal-mart checker
The elderly are a bad group too, they steal like *****, gotta watch them close.

Now the fun part begins. The next morning I asked my best buddy if I could borrow his cell phone to make a call. While he was talking to a couple of other buddies at our breakfast gathering, I slide this 1 inch square sensor behind the plastic cover on his phone. It's been there a month now and I still get a laugh every time I'm with him and an alarm goes off as we leave a store. I guess I'll tell him eventually!!!

x2... some of these comments are ridiculous
I think next time I shop I'm going to the self-checkout lane but I'm not going to bag it. Instead, I'll walk out with a cart full of un-bagged groceries and if they ask, I'm doing my part to save plastic bags
lol.. I think there might be a pic floating around somewhere.. believe it or not, I'm pretty clean cut for a 22 year old.. I dont have any battoos across my chest
cmon guys.. don't get upset, most of this post is just for fun.. it's better than talkin about politics and religion all the time
btw.. that's an interesting idea raptor.. make sure your recording it so we can watch it go down when they try to tackle you

I'm not big on all that "self-Checkout BS".
It sounds so innocent and harmless...
Self Check-out
Next thing you know, they will have us unloading the trucks and stocking the shelves, it's all a sneaky plan to make us do all the work for free.
Self Check-out wouldn't be so bad if they let us keep every 10th item for free as pay for doing the work, but you know they ain't giving you chit, then they have the ***** to charge you 5 cents for each bag.
BS!

I actually had this happen to me the other day at Walmart. I was leaving with my roommate and they ask him if they can see his receipt as I continue to walk outside. He then ask the woman why she didn't stop me and now she decides after I'm 20 feet outside the doors if she can see my receipt. At this point I really wanted to tell her to **** off, after I asked her whether or not she was messing with me. Looks like next time I'll keep walking and let her run after me.
BTW I'm 19 but don't look anything like someone that would steal ****, my roommate is not as "clean" but still he doesn't fit the look of someone that would steal.

I'm 18 and I've never been checked at our Wal-Mart or anywhere for that matter.I don't dress like most of the teenagers do though, I wear my hat straight and pants at my waist.
I've walked through the detectors and they'd go off for some reason and I'd stop but the security guard says "Just go ahead" I just say thanks and go on my way. However I was with one of my buddies one time and he got a pair of sunglasses and put them on his hat and forgot about him. We got back out to my truck and I saw he had them on his hat. I told him they were there and he said "Oh ****" Went back in and paid for them. So not all kids are bad.

I found this statement to be correct. I exited a WalMart and was asked for a receipt. I asked why? The clerk told me because I had an item not bagged.
I refused the receipt check and kept walking to my vehicle, no repercussions.
Since that time I insist they find a bag big enough to cover my purchase, or I ask a clerk walks me to the door. Once my receipt goes in my wallet, I don't like to take the time to pull it out of my pocket and sort through receipts just to prove I'm honest in the first place.
HUH???????

You've never heard of citizens arrest?
All this talk about they're taking away your rights is funny as hell....ridiculous but funny. As was stated earlier, if you don't like it and feel your right's have been violated, shop somewhere else.
Aside from the club stores, Mal-Wart is pretty much the only big box store around here that will ask to see your receipt. Even then, as many times as I've been asked to see it, they don't check it against what I have in the bags - they just look at it.
The problem I see with most Mal-Wart's layout is the location of the registers compared to where the doors are and the amount of products they have in between the two. Most other places have dedicated exit doors near the registers so you're led straight outside but Mal-Wart sees the need to put optical places, nail/hair salons, banks, fast food places, etc. there.
