Because they can work from home, I know many salesmen that do it.

You could find all of my information if you really wanted too. It'd be a bit of work.

If the government has immediate recall of your information, and doesn't have to go through a bunch of effort to get to it, I'd be worried that they'd be more inclined to use it. If the presidents plan is the redistribution of wealth, wouldn't it be handy to be able to look at individual income levels to know who they should be taking more money from?

Hey, they may not do a damn thing with the information that they've granted themselves access to. Kind of like wiretapping.

I don't see then need for dealer/customer information being on someones computer, away from the dealer. Doesn't make sense at all. That's like me taking peoples information from my job to my personal computer, doesn't make sense at all.

ok I saw 2 minutes of this crap, so tell me this. If you were trading in your clunker for a new shiny Prius why would YOU go to this website? Wouldnt they just let the dealer take care of it? And its a Govt. funded project so why wouldnt they have access to all the transactions and what ever other info they need? They could find out exactly how many times you wipe your A$$ if they wanted to, I really dont see what the huge B!#@% is about?

All you people who are unhappy with the Government and have been venting here understand, of course, that your personal computers, your identities, your children, your dogs and everything else have been "captured" by the Government! They've got data mining programs out there just looking for you guys! Congratulations! You fell right into their trap!

Because the government does not have the right to do this, when the gov starts doing something they shouldn't be doing I get pissed off. Like I said before if there was nothing wrong with what they were doing then howecome as soon as their was talk about it they removed it from the site and said they are working on changing it?

Hello?? IRS??? They already know how much everyone makes.

Also, It's funny how all the liberals are brushing this off like it's nothing when just a few months ago they were talking about impeaching Bush for spying on suspected TERRORISTS in the US!

Good point. I should have thought of that.

I still don't like it. I don't like this 'cash for clunkers" program in any way, shape of form.

Oh if you guys only knew that amount of info that can be obtained in a very short time just by you being logged onto the internet alone. Seriously, you guys are freaking out about nothing. The govt dont have the right, obama this, and other crap. All of these types of things have been done since the advent of the internet. It is nothing new! Everyday its done, when you buy stuff online, get online, buy stuff from stores. As long as you are connected, the govt, or any nerd from HS with enough know how can have your entire info in seconds. The cash for clunkers thing is doing any different or anything like that. They already know what they need to, nothing knew. You wont be labeled and on a terror watch list for trading a clunker, unless GB says so of course.

Oh, I'm wrong again. We should just ignore the overreaching of the government, because they've been doing it forever.

Now people are getting upset because, apparently some of you have known about this overreaching, but others feel it necessary to highlight it.

It is a complacent populous that got us to this point. Continued complacency will likely bring us to a place that I don't think our elderly and passed family and friend ever thought their effort would lead this country.

Those of you who want to do nothing and just let things happen the way they have, go ahead. What's you're problem with people highlighting information that is relevant to more and more people in this country?

Do you think that a couple centuries ago, people took issue with Paul Revere? Running around saying that the British were coming?
