OK someone gave me this joke and I couldn't get it to scan right, so here is the page I made for it.
(running and ducking now....)

Voting101

For the record, I am not a republican or demicrat, I vote for who I think can do the least amount of damage, given our choices at the time.

MNFORD99, hell yeah, we're better off now than we were 8 years ago. 8 years ago, I was struggling to collect rent and keep my rentals leased out. 8 years ago, my newest vehicle was a 1987. 8 years ago, my stocks were stagnant.

The last 8 years, I've been able to collect my rent on time and have NOT had to find a renter for over 3 years. I've been able to buy a new F-150 every 2 years. Maybe 3 this time since I just love this truck! My portfolio has increased by an average of 120% per year over the past 5 years. 1998 and 1999 were particularly good years. My trading friend and I felt like we failed if we didn't double our portfolio value every quarter (estimated tax times).

I don't know of anybody doing worse now than they did 8 years ago. Hell, most of my friends have been moving into progressively more expensive homes during the past 3 years! I'm too lazy to move, so I stay in my dinky old 46 year old tract home that I've lived in practically forever. There were maybe 3 millionaires in my own family 8 years ago. Now, there are at least 15.

BTW, Mudder, Gore is on record as being in favor of the death penalty. Personally, I'm against it for this simple reason. If I served on a jury and sentenced a person to death, how would I feel if we later found out that person was innocent?? I kid you not, I'd feel like I murdered that person myself.

Oh yeah, I agree. Gore tends to embellish. So what? He's the most likely person to continue what I've enjoyed for the last 8 years.

Can you imagine? If Dubya wins, he'd be the translators' worst nightmare.

If I gotta explain that one to you, you're dumber than Dubya is.

Actually mudder, two of your big time republican roundheads are actually in favor of gun control. Can you dig it? McCain has been on Colorado TV as of late urging voters to pass some stricter gun control legislation requiring background checks at gun shows, etc. Henry Hyde, the ever pious republican congressman from Illinois CO-AUTHORED the infamous 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill featuring the controversial Assault Weapons Ban (he was integral in lobbying other conservatives to vote for this piece of legislation). I lived in Wyoming when **** was the state's U.S. Rep-at-large. He was totally for selling off BLM lands that were open to hunters, campers, etc. to uranium mines, corporate ranchers, oil companies etc. Gore voted against that little item, by the way. I am most definitely pro-gun and Second Amendment, but I believe the republicans will play both sides of that fence for all of the votes that they can get and sell you down the river if that's the only issue on your mind. As for Clinton and Gore closing these federal lands off, I have received MORE hunting opportunities on federal lands since Bill Clinton became president than before. I have seen, however, a definite decrease in grazing and logging during this time. Makes for better quality hunting and less pollution. Get it? As for Clinton-not-having-anything-to-do-with-the-economy-it's-Greenspan. What a BONEHEAD analogy. Guess who appoints (and can withhold appointments), smart guy? The PRESIDENT!! As for the eight years under any president crap. I was WORSE off after eight years of Reagan and still no better after four years of Bush. I almost forgot ****'S biggest accomplishment of the '70s: chief of staff to Gerald R. Ford. Quite an impressive resume.

I also have to add this to this discussion...In the grand scheme of things, who cares what promises a Career Politian can make to the public, because the very seldomly hold any of them.
To tell all of you fellow F150onliners, Had Jesse Ventura ran for President....I personally would have voted for him. I voted him in for Govenor of the State of Minnesota, because I figured that he couldn't do any worse than what a politian could do...and that was his strong point when he ran. Everyone said that there was no way he had a chance to win the govenorship, but low and behold he did it!!! He might have pissed a lot of people off so far, but he isn't afraid to speak his mind, and to me that plays right along with me...If I have something to say, I am not going to be afraid to say it.
I am also going to have to go along the prediction that was made by Dennis, If Bush wins, then the Democrats will take over the house, and possibly the Senate in two years. First two years of Bush's administration will be just there to get confused, and then the last two years will be total grid lock because the democrats will shoot down everything that Bush tries to pass. So are we going to be any better now with Bush than what we are with Clinton and Gore??????????????????????????????
Personally I would have seen someone like Steve Forbes get elected president, so that we could have gotten rid of a lot of the programs like the IRS, and other government agencies.
Another thing....What is it with the Republicans always running up the national debt on Military spending, when to date, we have the Strongest, Most Advanced, and prepared Military in the world? Not only that, if something becomes to big for just the United States to handle....Isn't there a group called NATO? It seems to me that England, Canada, and many other countries helped out in the Persian Gulf Conflict...So that goes to prove that we don't need all of the Military spending!!!!!!!

I agree. If Jesse Ventura ran and had a decent VP, I would have been tempted to vote for him if he had a decent chance of winning. I really don't know what kind of job he's doing in his state, but I sure like the way he thinks.

Hell, Perot might have won if he hadn't chosen Admiral Stockdale to be his running mate.

I so badly want to say something on here. Mudder has hit one of my pet peeves. I wish you guys knew him as well as I do, then every time you read something that he posted then you would want to reach through the computer screen and strangle his "egotistic-texan' neck. but I'm going to bite my tongue, b/c I'm aware that I don't know enough about the candidates to pick them apart unlike some other uneducated person on here has.

However, I prefer Gore.

Pony, I wish I was more like one of those "unaware" people that Leno finds when he goes Jaywalking. Unfortunately for a lot of people, I'm not.

I know a bit of what you're going through. My best friend and his wife are Republicans. Believe me, I don't hold that particular fault against them. LOL.

Anyone that REALLY pays attention will be aware that Mr. Bush is far and away the better man for this country. Then again, people who watch Dan Rather, Peter Jennings and Tom Brokaw might think otherwise and that is a shame as the media is so tainted.

We've had crooks, liars, and a president who has had sex with with youngsters as young as his own daugther trash the nation and use the oval office sink running this country for 8 years. Hopefully, this long experience is over.

Uh, you must be a little slow and live under a BIG rock. ANYONE who pays attention would see W. is interested in cutting social security benefits, Medicare, is proposing to spend approximately half of what Clinton has spent on defense, and wants to sell off public lands to corporate interests. But then again, maybe you and W. were busy cutting a line and you missed everything that was said earlier. Oh yeah, Slick ***** might've gotten a little tail, but I don't remember him snorting any nose candy or getting picked up for DUI.

P.S. It's not illegal to get any extra tail and I'm not his keeper either, nor are you, dude.

Pony and Mudder. You know, politics is an emotional subject. Sometimes, if you want to remain friends with somebody, you don't discuss politics. My closest friends are Republicans. We joke a bit about it, but we NEVER EVER get into deep discussions about it. We already know each other well enough to know what the other is thinking, so discussion isn't necessary.

Once the election is over, we congratulate each other and we move on. Of course when one or the other's candidate starts to screw up, we can't help by needle each other about it, but we do it in a friendly manner.

That works for me and my friends.

I know of others, especially couples who are polar opposites when it comes to politics. They live their lives like lawyers. When lawyers are in court, they aren't friends, but out of court, they're golf buddies, etc. Same with some couples. They treat each other with respect, but they don't hold back on their opinions. Once the campaign is over, the subject is dropped.

So you're wanting us all to believe that you're just some kind of a self-made man? Never had anyone's help? BULLSH**!! Your boys reagan and bush put us in the poor house, dumbass. Tax cuts that resulted in decreased federal programs, heavy overseas borrowing for a defense build up (there were FEWER military pay raises under those two jackasses than under Clinton). Those two idiots did nothing to help interest rates. Your grasp of the economy is rather pathetic. If Clinton wasn't happy with Greenspan he could very well have him removed from office or refuse to renominate him when his next term's up. GET IT?!! After you've finished with your "Big Book of Coloring and Finance," please put your Crayons away and wash your hands for a little snacky. GOT IT?!!

btr, don't be turning this thing personal and start calling other members of these boards disparaging names!

It's one thing to get hot under the collar, but it's quite another to start callling individuals names.

As far as your other comments go, President Clinton and Congress has produced an atmosphere that's conducive to individuals making more money. Interest rates have stayed down. Unemployment is down. Just these two events is enough to put more money into the system and this is where the money comes from.

High unemployment is a drain on the system. Fewer consumers with money means less money spent which means less money for everybody while it taxes business and taxpayers thru umemployment insurance and increased strain on medical facilities (many of whom are publicly funded) treating more uninsured patients.

So, if a person was lazy, that person wouldn't do well no matter how good or bad times are. In this case, you are correct. However, an atmosphere conducive to making money by putting more money into the system as has happened in the last 8 years, makes making money just that much easier. In other words, you are only partially correct.
