7700 forum

i was just wondering but this site seems to have a forum for almost every F-series truck including the 2011 F-100 but theres nothing for the 7700 series trucks. makes you feel left out. anyways just food for thought.

It's the red-headed step child of the F-150 line, it has retarded 7 lug axles that NO ONE makes wheels for.

Although I agree that it doesn't need its own forum, I disagree that it isn't a unique package...

The 7700 series has..
- larger brakes, front and rear, 4 wheel disc as well.
- 4r100 tranny (same as lightning and superduties)
- 10.25" rear diff with 3.73 gears, front is still 8.8
- larger torsion bars
- extra rear leaf
- heavier frame
- 7 lug wheels

Although it is a red-headed step child, they do indeed make quite a few wheels for the 04-08 styles. The obs? Not so many... something like 2-4 styles (not sure exactly).

Just sayin...

This place has too many forums now as it is, IMO.

What's w/ the oddball 7 lug 10.25" anyway? Why didn't Ford just use a 8 lug 10.5" out of a 3/4 ton?

I love my 7700. I agree the wheels suck. I plan on getting new ones this summer. I have a little over 100,000 (272,671km) on it right now. I bought it used 5 years ago and other than normal maintenance and one bad COP it's been trouble free.

Lol I know all about the 7700 series. Did you look at the name you copied that post from? Looks pretty similar to this post here....

https://www.f150online.com/forums/3558506-post10.html

Like I said it really doesn't need its own forum. The brakes are shared with the lightning. 4r100 can be found in regular F150's (Most of them 99's). 10.25" diff really isn't that fantastic. 2 inches higher in the rear from the add a leaf. a thicker frame. The only thing that would be discussed is the lack of aftermarket wheels available...
