When do you fillup?

I noticed the other day that I have a weird habit of topping off whenever I dropped below 1/2 tank. So I was wondering what other truck owners do when the gauge starts to drop.

Here's my scenario:

low fuel light on. Get paid. $150 onto wally-world gas card. Top off ($85). Drive until 1/2-1/4 way down, spend last of $65 to bring it back up until the card is empty. usually lasts me to my low fuel light in which I get paid again. repeat.

I fill up when I have about an 1/8 of a tank left. Though I think my fuel gauge reads a little low..

I usually start to feel somewhat anxious when it hits quarter tank or a little below. I will then purchase $20 to $30 worth of fuel. On occasion I will buy $40 worth. If going on a long trip I will fill it up.

When the gas prices were going up like 10 cents a day during the late spring/early summer I was topping off my tank everyday, even if I only needed 2 or 3 gallons.

Right now it seems that they are going down at a rate of a about 2 cents a day here in Jersey so I am waiting until I hit 1/4 tank and then only throwing in like $30 or $40

I fill it up at around 1/8 tank. Mine is a daily driver, so I go through a tank in about a week and a half or so.

I wait until the low fuel alarm goes off.. then I am good for another 60-90 miles. So I time it so that I get fuel on the way to work so I am not running with the low fuel warning on too long so as not to burn up the fuel pump. I get about 600 miles to the tank....That is when I was driving the truck. I haven't put gas in since April.

I fill up every time I go to the States. Usually save 30 cents per liter or so. If I don't feel like driving the 11 miles to the border I'll throw in 20-40 bucks until I do.

I stress my fuel pump, thats for sure, but I am starting to stretch one tank of gas out past two weeks worth of driving though.
