I usually fill up at a 1/2, I like to keep all three vehicles filled up at all times. Probably a few reasons are the prices seem to go up and down everyday, so I just top off to keep up with the prices and not to mention that all the worry and fear of oil, that we could have another 70's gas crunch one of these days. I also live on the coast, so during hurricane season I like to be prepared in case we have to get out of dodge in a hurry if a storm comes up the coast. I also work right next to a decent gas station with some of the cheapest prices in town, so I usually zip in the early am when nobody is there, usually in and out in a few minuets, I have also heard that it is best to fill up in the very early am when it is cooler out?? something to do with evaporation??

Hell, I can race you on foot, while you are in your truck, and beat you in a ten yard race. I would cry foul. But hey, I am never in the wrong.
I know believe me, you should have seen the marks in the gravel exiting the alley, She was trying to catch up with her father. I got the ticket for failure to yield backing out of my driveway. I didn't notice the burn-out marks in the gravel until the ticket was giving and everyone was gone. First ticket I have got in 20+years. She just nailed it coming out of the alley and I was backing out at the same time. I just guessing, she was probably doing at least 25-30 mph out of the alley and kept accelerating until we met, never touching the brake pedal. Just can't imagine how pissed I am. As far as I can tell, that's how it happened because I never seen her, matter of fact I sat there backing out waiting for her father to pass by so I could back out. Didn't see anything behind him, and he was going about 5mph????

Edit: Forgot to mention, they were both talking on cell phone and have a witness for the father but that means nothing. And I just measured, not 30ft but 55-60ft

plastic, I buffed out the chrome before this pic, Dang- Sorry to derail this thread. But I had a full tank of gas. The bumper took most of the force.

I have a heck of a time remembering how to post pics rather than links, did someting change?

Well I have the 35.7 gallon tank.. and I get 600 miles out of it regularly. Just have to drive right and do TRUE mixed driving. 600 divided by 32 gallons = 18.75 MPG. Not out of line with what people have said here.;

60 feet is 20 yards... I have to do this to actually visualize what 60 feet is Anyway, that is plenty of time to stop. She should have been ticketed for exhibition of speed, or even reckless driving. You may have the ticket, but you can take the ticket to small claims court. Think of what the ticket will do to your insurance (nice long pause for dramatic effect) You should have taken pics of her skid marks. Its still possible to fight it. Unless you have paid it, then you are screwed. Talk it over with your insurance company if you have not paid. Maybe they pay yours, and she has to get paid by hers. That would be sweet. She needs to pay, and the dad may not be a POS? Who knows. FIGHT, especially if you are in the right

Oh yeah, if you have a witness that the father was on the cell, you are able to cross examine him and ask him to inform the court who he was speaking to... Think about it...

Notice I did not call you a liar, I said my truck would not get the same. Find me 5 people who claim 18.75 mixed HWY/CITY. Good luck

18mpg mixed is kinda trivial, but I am not going to doubt you over a couple mpg because it's entirely possible. I get doubted on my highway mileage claims often but what can ya do.

I run mine all the way down to 0 and then keep on going. I had just gotton on the loop in Lubbock and I was on 0 and kept going another 10 miles to the first gas station I saw. I put 28.7 gallons in my 27 gallon tank that day lol

When the little computer in the dash tells me I have 20 miles left, i figure thats a good time to fill up. But now with gas dropping so rapidly right now, Ill probably just start filling it half way whenever I need to.
