I like to keep mine over a half full, but that doesn't always happen.

If all I'm doing is driving it around town, I fill up when the light comes on. I generally know where the best prices are in town and I don't have to go out of my way. When I'm out on the highway, I plan my fuel stops around where I know it's least expensive - I generally don't push it to the light. It usually works out so I am filling it when it's between 1/8 and 1/4.

If you are traveling and want to find cheap gas, bring a laptop, find a wifi, and hit gasbuddy.com.

Depends on where I'm going... put just enough in it to get to the next town, when I'm going north (to Anchorage), then I fill it up, and all my gas jugs when I go south (back home)

Gas is about $0.75 cheaper in Anchorage.

Whenever it's at, or slightly more than, 1/4. That way, I'm full before it gets to the 75$ limit.

I like to lie to myself due to high gas prices as to that my truck doesn't cost that much to fill up. So I top it off after it gets around 3/4 tank.

I don't like having all that extra weight, so I run it down to 1/8-1/4 and then put 9 gallons in it (That is what I use per week). I have improved my all city mileage from 16.5 to 18 by not having all the extra.

F-250 has lately been getting filled up when it is at about a half tank. Never ran it below 1/4 tank.

Cavi gets filled up when its on E.

Every pay day I fill both tanks, about $175. After 250 miles on the front tank I hit the switch and go to the rear.

I use the little "Miles to empty " gauge. Usually between 5-10 miles to empty. My average is 24 gallons/fill-up. The most I ever put in it was 25.3 and my little "miles to empty" gauge had been on 0 for a day or so.

I try not to let it get under 1/4 tank. Usually fill up between sumwhere between 1/4 and 1/2.

Id rather not starve my fuel pump or burn it up from running around with under 1/4 tank of gas the way I drive.

I don't fill up anymore. I put $25 in on my 3 or 4 workday run, and put $40 when it is my 6 workday run. This usally gives me enough gas to go to work and back, and one or two trips to the store, or doctors.

I fill up on Fridays, regardless of where the gauge is... If it's a usual work week, then that puts me at just around 1/2 tank.

I just like having a full tank over a weekend, just in case something comes up and I need to go.. Then, I don't have to worry about stopping for gas..

It also keeps my weekly fill ups to around $60, which is easier to take, then going for a week and half and then filling up and seeing > $80... That just hurts, no matter how much 'lube' you have!! but, that's just me and that's what I do...

Mitch
