There was a fun little utility on Facebook titled:
"Their, There, & They're"

They give you 20 sentences to use, and then you select the correct "their" via multiple choice.

Kk, now that the joke is out of the way...

Seriously, how come anytime someone is saying how crappy the Canadian health care system is, you never actually hear it from a Canadian?

Take it from me, a guy diagnosed with an incurable, terminal disease, I've been at the mercy of our 'crappy' health care system, and it's not let me down yet.

It's not perfect, and if my entitlement was based on some greasy insurance company using small print to disallow my treatment, I would've either lost everything I worked my entire life for (to pay for treatment), or I'd be dead already.

I guess the difference between our systems are that my rich neighbour (Dan Akroyd) is not so incredibly uptight and selfish, that he resents the extra testing and medical care I required.

He wasn't yelling at the top of his lungs "ya know, if Habibi's sick, f--- him, if he can't afford his own healthcare, too bad for him"

It's interesting to me how there's a correlation between ultra conservatives, holy rollers, and a deep rooted resentment towards helping the less fortunate.

This is a paradox I've never quite understood.

We haven't even mentioned Iraq yet, I'm sure that will be hilarious.
Yes, the debate about Iraq will be hilarious. Especially since Obama is changing his tune about it.

Rich don't pay more taxes? Herm...well the richest 1% of the Americans earned about 22% of the income in the country. they also paid 45% of the country's income tax.

1% of the people paying 45% of the taxes, yet only earning 22% of the income.

Yeah, the rich don't pay taxes...tax them more!

Another statisic I read, posted by a CPA (Possibly meaningless) said that BEFORe the Bush tax cuts the wealthiest 10% of Americans paid 60% of the country's taxes. AFTER his tax cuts (which are criticized for favoring the rich) the wealthiest 10% pays 70% of the country's taxes.

Sure, proportionately they pay yes...but literally they pay a LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT LOT more than you or me.

The buyer of the house had to pay taxes on the $1,000,000 he bought it for. That is double taxation. That is WRONG! There should be NO capital gains tax. It is not the governments money.
And the rest of the story is, if you stay in that house 2 years, capital gains does not apply. Therfore, trying to calm the housing market.

Haven't chose a side yet, but, WOW, what a bunch of BS to wade through finding out what peers have to speak about candidates.

EDIT: I hope I didn't get too deep for the intellectuals on here. LMFAO! Been through it all now, and, SEE, BOTH sides are barking the JOKINGLY sides and HAVE NO FRIGGIN CLUE!

So, big question is, DO ANY OF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT?

Hmmm. How does that work?

I like the sound of lower premiums!

Obama has a way to give everyone health care without increased costs?

What do taxes have to do with health care?

You mean that they would actually spred out the increased cost thinly across the entire tax structure? So I wouldn't even notice that I was paying more?

I like the lower premiums, but I'm not so sure that I like the sound of paying more in taxes to pay for the health care of people who should be paying for it themselves.

So you want the government to take money from the rich and use it to subsidize your insurance premiums? Show me where that's an authorized power of the Federal Government in the Constitution.

You're going to get the Constitution amended in 2009? You do understand what the "Constitution" is, correct?

Glancing through the Constitution, I don't see anywhere that it says the US Government can tax the income of the rich to subsidize your insurance premiums.

Why do you need the Fed to take care of you? Have some pride and take care of yourself! Don't sign your life over to the care of some lazy government bureaurocrat that doesn't care whether you live or die.

Anyone else have any other info about actual income of the wealthy, actual taxes paid, and the proportions of national income/tax?

What is it you Obamanites don't get? Yeah sure cheap health care.....waahooo! that is a fantastic idea, I want cheap health care too.

What ya'll don't get is that while yuor paying dirt cheap prices for health care your going to be paying double the federal taxes, 8 dollars a gallon for gas, corn will be 100 bucks a bushel, your going to have to buy a new car that conforms to his MPG standards, heating oil will push the Northeast into depression, electicity will triple per kilowatt because he wont build nuclear plants, natural gas will do the same, becasue he wont drill for it.

There will be LESS money in your pocket!!

Of course, it's a living, breathing document.
It is located at the National Archives.
They have it on life support.
