I think it may be harder than we know. The Corp is paying taxes on a previously unknown profit which is subdued by competition.

You're not getting it. YES YOU PAY TAXES. It's an expense for you, right? It's figured into your calculations to know what to charge an employer for your services. IT IS PASSED ON TO THE EMPLOYER! I don't know why as an individual you're not getting this.

Wait... you can't just raise what you charge your employer for your services because of competition in the job force? Well you can't in business either and for the same reason, competition.

I have had a CPA on the payroll for the last 8 years, and deal with two others during the year. None of them have ever showed me how to pass on net profit taxes on to the consumer. I am soooo glad you have enlightened me. What business did you say you were in? How many years have you been in business?

so if all of a sudden your taxes went up say 25% you would not raise the price to your customers at all

wow I am awestruck either your are so overcharging your customers that you could absorb it, or you do not think you pay enough and will just pay it out of pocket if that is the case I wish all of corporate America to take lessons in benevolent business practices from you.

Lets be fair. The customer isn't the only one in line to suffer before the company takes the hit. The employees of the company are likely to suffer, as well. Wasteful practices will also be targeted. If this isn't possible, then the customer is the only way to go, and the competition will follow suit. They are in the same boat after all. It's that or get buried. If the profit margin is so great that you can afford to pay more taxes, without going under, then your competition in the marketplace probably isn't that intense in the first place and you can still get by with a price hike.

Ok, so I should calculate the business is going to make, let's say $100,000 profit @ current 15% tax bracket = $15,000 tax. So I know taxes are going to go up to 35% = 35,000 so I raise prices 20,000 to offset additional tax so the business now makes 120,000 profit to offset increase in tax so now the business makes 120,000 X 35% = $42,000 tax liability. I think I've got it!

Well if you quit voting democrat, you may see some profits rise and not have to raise your prices to cover taxes! By your example, your in a downward spiral.. paying more and more taxes on the way. Oh wait... that is what obama proposes.. just like you laid out. Wow you are really out of it. Maybe you shouldn't own a business? I dunno.. As odin said, the employee may suffer some first.. unless your in one of our illustrious unions... then the company HAS to raise prices to pay the taxes... or take a smaller profit margin. But then as was said, the competition is in the same boat. They have to raise prices too. So it can be argued validly that higher corporation taxes causes inflation.. AND outsourcing to cheaper countries if that company manufactures goods.

Throwing obama stuff at everyone? Not everyone. Only the people who make comments that sound like his talking points. I will give you credit that you haven't put that button picture up that shows America's road to ruin and the American sunset on it.....BTW... mc cain is NOT ok to me. He is nearly as liberal as obama. I am writing in Ronald Reagan on my vote.

What the conservatives get a six year run and the Left will only get two? I don't think so.
The honeymoon lasts six years not two.
I do agree in 2014 they won't know what hit them.
Just like the Right got blindsided in '06....

It was Nov '04 when Sean Hannity predicted with a smirk the Democratic Party was toast and they may not win another election at any national level.
