Obama supporters..... help me understand this
I am going to change companies. Progressive wont even fix a broken windshield without a full deductable payment. My windshield is $280 and my deductable is $500! Statefamr fixes windshields for $50. bottom line is Progressive sucks!
My gf changed from Progressive to Farm Bureau and saved $75 every six months and has more coverage and lower deductibles.
Didn't mean you.
I meant my ability to choose companies to invest in that have such a sound business plan.

Ironically- the people who are against Obama, are the same idiots, er- I mean, people- who voted for George Bush... Twice.
We pay taxes anyway, and if some happens to go to the poor, I don't care. As long as they're US Citizens- I don't care. Them gettign a paycheck from the Government, may just keep those poor, broke, b@$tards from sneaking in my house while my family sleeps, and steals from us, or kill us in our sleep.
So, throw them a bone. If they;re hapy on the bottom, let them stay there.
If you've ever known anyone on Welfare, then you know these people aren't rich, or living it up. They're just comfortable on the bottom. No car, house leans, barefooted children. But, they're still Americans.
If people fall on hard times, lost their job, inadequately employed, sleeping in their car, kids can't eat... Then yes, I don't mind them getting a piece of the 25% (not counting the other deductions) sized slice of pizza that I've already given (had taken from me) by Uncle Sam.
Where I draw the line is on drug heads, child-crankers, and illegals getting welfare. If you're a crack head, and can't hold a job, you should get no crack money from the government, and whatever happens-happens.
If you crank out another chld every time your welfare check is about to run out, I think you shoudl be cut off, and whatever happens-happens. If you are illegal, then you aren't entitled (at least in my eyes) to file for Welfare and Food stamps. You cheated, you didn't follow the process- so you should be cut off, and whatever happens-happens.
The simple answer: No, I don't mind some of my tax money going to Welfare, as long as Welfare is regulated. But, I can't tell Sam what to do with my money once he takes it.
Socialism: It has it's good points too. More Americans might be better off if the medical community was controlled by the government. Then, so many Senior Citizens wouldn't have to choose between purchasing their prescription medicines this week, and buying food next week.
It's cool to be arrongant, close-minded, and kokky today. But, 20-30-40 years from now, when you're 60, 70, 80- you won't see the world with the same arrogant, eyes you do today- with your young, strong, disease free body. When you're fighting off cancer, diabetes, and stuff like that- come back to the forum, and debate why there are no benefits to socialism. At least you could have medical care and affordable medicines, unlike in our capitalist society- where were it not for insurance (for most of us, through our employers), we coudln't afford to have a splinter removed from our pinky by a doctor. Let alone hospitalization, and full Dr. fees.
That's my stand on it- but, you all have a right to your opinions too. Just, don't ever get sick- unless you're independently wealthy, and covered by insurance your employer provides to you at a discount.

I just don't think adequate health care shodl be a benefit only to the rich... If you can afford better than what the government provides, then- by all means- you shoud have it. But, if you can't afford it, it doesn't mean you should have to suffer in your illness or injury, and end up dying like a worm-ridden dog.
Yeah! What he said! x2
Take that, you bunch of......
Bighersh, I've been holding them off all night by myself. They was coming for me from all directions, waves of them. They scribbled all over my homework and took my lunchmoney, then they lit out when they heard you coming.

Hey---taxes are a part of life---and even after you go---well, while you are not worried about them, your survivors are...
I teach, so, in Ohio, my salary comes from property taxes. While nobody likes to pay 'em, and nobody likes HIGH taxes, my school district has done quite well in preparing kids for careers and trades. Here in the Buckeye State, part of what determines your home value is the quality of schools in which the home is located.
I work hard fo my money, and in the summer I work a second job as well---but if, by paying taxes, I make someone else's life a little bit better---make the country a little bit better, I guess I am all for it. I have taught the destitute as well as the wealthy---and kids really cannot determine how they live or in what conditions they are brought up. The tax dollars from my community---that paid my salary and those of the other teachers---helped many of them escape poverty, go to school, and become what some would term "productive members of our society."
Granted, some taxes are inane; but as for welfare, i have known many people who had really good jobs, but, for whatever reason, the company closes or moves---whammo! no job. The safety net---so that some can get back on their feet, I feel, is good for all. Yep, some certainly abuse it...just as others (individuals and corporations) abuse the tax codes for their benfit, as well.
McCain ain't gonna change that....nope...not at all.

I have to admit, there is some good points made here but we are arguing semantics here and not seeing the BIG picture. What we are talking about here boils down to PERSONAL RESPONIBILITY. There are more and more people in this country who DON'T use welfare and unemployment as a safety net like it is supposed to be they use it as a crutch and a lifestyle. They believe that since they are poor they should milk it for all it's worth and let the suckers work for a living. Extending and expanding these programs will only lead to more and more people taking advantage of the system. I for one am sick and tired of seeing my hard earned money go to people who have neither earned or deserve any of my money or respect.
ok I finally get it thank you for helping me understand
If you are a young, whiny, crying, entitlement idiot, with a gimmie it its mine attitude you vote demoncrat so you can suckle the t!t of society
If you are self sufficent with the attitude that you reap what you sow and nobody owes you anything you didnt earn with the sweat off your brow you vote for the conservative
If you are a old, whiny crying, entitlement idiot, with a gimmie its mine attitude, you vote demoncrat so you can drain every last drop out of society before you die and leave the next generation with the bill
thanks for clearing that up at least now I know the reason

Where did I say "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!"?
Got a qusetion for ya, how 'bout the corporations that use the tax codes to their benefit? HMMMMM? Here in beautiful Cleveland, we have two major hospitals---immense, and internationally known. Seems though, that as good as they do, and as much good as they do, they cannot be taxed by schools etc---as they just happen to be "non-profit" While we gripe about those who abbuse the welfare system, what about all fo the corps. that do the same---probably as well as the same coporation who manuafactured our trucks? Don't you seem to think that they have lawyers doing battle with cities and towns to pay as little taxes as they can--not what is rightfully owed, but what is craftily owed? We can gripe about the people, but the cheating goes on in other areas, does it not?

if you think any company ever pays taxes you are sadly mistaken if they were taxed at 75% it would just be passed on to the consumer so saying that companies don pay taxes is like saying you are not paying taxes
now as far as the gimmie gimmie gimmie anytime you are going to tax the working folks and give it to someone not working, young or old it is a gimmie welfare, food stamps, unemployment, medicare, medicaid, its like this if you are young you will eventually be old plan for it or enjoy the alpo it may sound harsh but if you do not plan for your retirement do not expect me to subsidize your retirement
