About to roll over 70k miles, and I'll be towing a boat to the keys in a month. Any particular maintenance/services I should do to the truck before I go?
It's almost due for an oil change and tire rotation, which I'll be doing before I leave. The tires themselves are perfect. I changed the spark plugs at 50k and had a coolant exchange performed at 60k. I have a good drop-in air filter in place, and I cleaned the MAF/MAP sensor at about 50k as well. The brakes are not factory - I had to replace front pads and rotors at about 35k due to rust and a sticking caliper. They've been squeaking a bit here lately but the pedal feels fine.
I think that covers the major things I've done. Anything you guys think I should look into before I travel?
Weve talked about this. 70k is when these ecoboosts blow up. I was luckily able to make it to 74k. Easiest solution? Trade er in for that 3.5 10 speed.
Tomorrow going to get my tags at the dealership and get my break in oil change done and over with. Also ordered some american flag overlays thats suppose to be super close to ruby red. Next is a trifold bed cover and shes done for a while

Agree, a little chrome looks fine but the grill and surround was just a tad much. Im thinking of ptm bumpers and mirror caps then leave the handles and emblems chrome. Even when i switch the wheels later itll still look decent
The only problem with the GT's is that they're unattainable for 99.9% of the population -- I find myself more drawn to cars that a guy with some willpower and a decent job can at least think of owning. The only way I think a normal human could own a GT is if 5 or 6 car guys formed a partnership to purchase, maintain and own one -- although getting financing for such an endeavor might be a challenge.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll give it a thorough checkup.

Oh man you aren't kidding. I am cursed when it comes to trailer wheel bearings! Luckily from so many trailering issues I've learned to plan ahead -- I carry spare bearings and grease with me in the toolbox, and now I can just replace and repack them right on the side of the road if I have to!

That's the appeal of a super car, eye candy, have a nice poster on the wall and drool over it.
You could even say the same thing about a new Shelby GT350, not really something the average person can afford.
I mean I know we're talking two different ranges, 400k+ vs 70k but still
