Let's start over......
Repair. From what he said, he's going to heat and straighten the frame. Afterwards, weld a piece of metal in the repaired sections to strengthen the weakened sections. After all that, we have to get a new bed, then straighten the front brackets. I'm trying to find either an STX, L, or HD front bumper/valance. Going to aim for a full PTM front.
I have always been a sucker for the blue and white. I remember my grandpa had a late 70s chevy that was dark blue and white and I loved it, just a color that has always stuck with me.
I've got to figure out how I am going to park this truck. Literally out of room. I have the garage full, driveway and a part of the yard closest to the neighbor and 1 in the back yard. Both neighbors park on the street and with them parking there I don't have room without blocking the mailbox.
I think my last truck but a hex on this one after I sold it. I'm really starting to believe that with 1 blown tire due to scrap metal in the road, scraped bed from same piece of metal, 2 wrecks, and a headlight build that started in MARCH and has yet to be completed for one reason or another.
Regardless, we've already dropped off the truck. Same guys is doing the rest of the body and paint work, so it all works out. Their insurance had to foot the bill, so oh well. Does sound like it'd be an experience though, I'm sure of that!
Was she good looking at least?
Tried to start the truck this afternoon with remote start and it would just honk and flash the lights. Tried everything I could think of, did research online bought new batteries. Ended up if the window is down the truck won't start. Fml

Never seen one before -- I've never pulled a 5th wheel trailer before so I don't know any of the in's-or-out's of that kind of towing.
I can't get out of Dallas today......
Started out with a quick inspection up in Carrollton and got on the road heading back to Houston by 10:30. Got about 5 miles south of I-20 on 35E and my phone rang to go look at a job just east of downtown, so I cut back to hit it.
Finished up and got back heading towards Houston around 1:00, and by the time I got to I-45 and I-20 I got another call to go look at a job out in Seagoville.
Got back on I-20 around 4:00 and thought I'd blow back at least to Waco so I had an easy drive into Houston in the morning. Didn't even make it to Mesquite before my phone rang again and I was booked to go look at a job up in Flower Mound tomorrow around lunchtime.
Didn't feel like fighting afternoon traffic all they way up to the northwest side of town, so I just got a room in Mesquite and called it good. Had to go out and buy a pair of socks, a t-shirt and a work shirt since I didn't pack enough clothes for an extra day in the field.....

I looked at the Safetyhitch website. That's kinda neat. It is motorized and also has a set of brakes with it. Like I've always said with my experience towing, these trucks today can pull just about anything. Stopping it, oh yeah, stopping it is a major issue few see until it's too late. Most trailers only come with 1 axle of brakes and for most, it's not near enough braking force. This would help a lot. It is motorized and once you start to pull out from under the safetyhitch, the dolly wheel drops down and you have a remote to put it where you want it. It will also level the hitch height for you and it takes the weight off of the truck which is a good thing in dry weather, maybe not so good in wet. I'm not sure about having to back the whole thing up considering you have an extra axis point to deal with.
