That's out near Austin

Here's on from 2011 that was hit near Dallas. It's the first "Big job" I've heard of

Huge operation. If you figure even as low as 5 minutes per vehicle (which would be fast with a floor jack and hand tools) you're talking over two hours on the lot.

Several people evolved and it's less time then that. You'd need probably 10-20 guys to pull this off in a quick timely manner.

Not to mention the haul away, you'd need a 30' cargo trailer on the small side of the spectrum depending on how many vehicles were targeted

Go in ahead of time and pull all but 1 of the lug nuts, then it would make it much faster for the actual theft.

One guy on the jack/blocks, 1 guy on the lug nut, 2 guys loading???? Could probably move pretty quick.

IT WASN'T ME ,I'M IN CALIFORNIA

Yeah, several other jobs like that have been pulled in Texas recently. It's kind of impressive, not that I condone robberies but I'll give credit where it's due. A few folks said its likely an isnide job, and you would think - but it's been happening to enought dealers to make you wonder.

Decent size crew and a big toy hauler or cube truck, that's all I can think of.

They also make some pretty bad *** battery/electric impact guns that are capable of 800+ ftlbs. Might be worth the investment and a few batteries to help speed up the job

They would nearly had to have something like that.

I was doing some research on the chemical guy's Wax I bought before Christmas, I've used it once before. Found out you can Wax while wet with the extreme depth, tried it out and worked awesome. 45 mins start to finish and have a nicely waxed truck.

Beats 3 and 4 hours just for wax!

Quit posting pics of your truck. It makes me want to get a bunch of supplies and go to town on mine. You can post pics when we start getting "detailing" weather around here in April/May

Finally the winds are calming down from the storms and the cold front that passed through. Temps heading back up into the mid 60's and wind down to 5-10 mph. Only one tree fell over in my neighborhood and no other damage other then branches in the yards...people 40 to 50 miles away not so fortunate with the tornado outbreak on Tuesday.

Getting new tires today. Have 31,500 on the OEM Michelins and could go another 4000 or so but decided not to push it with all the highway driving I do. They have been getting rougher on bumps as the tread is disappearing. There is an Athens shop where I wanted to buy, mainly for convenience and service. I asked about Nitto 421Qs and his supplier does not carry them. They have other Nitto, just not that one. I was going to go with Michelin Defender LTX M/S but after talking with the guy, decided to go with his recommendation, Yokohama Geolander HTGO 56. This is the tire I was going to put on my 2011 if I had not traded it in. Get them put on this afternoon, new tires always make a big difference.

Wife is already fussing at me for not going with the Michelins. Just not sure the Michelins are worth the extra money any more. They would have been $280 MORE.
