Bracing for bad weather over here...wind..rain and the possible tornadoes. Schools getting out at noon so I'll probably have the 15 and the 2 yr old over here for awhile.

We got 6/10ths of rain last night. First measurable precipitation since December. Today high of 49 with wind gusts to 45. I'm staying inside

Rain but winds are fairly calm at my house...nothing we can't handle. Waterspouts on Lake Ponchartrain about 70 miles away close to Mandeville.
The worse is still ahead of us for later this evening.

OK so far...most of the tornado's are hitting about 50 miles North of my house. Paincourtville and Convent got hit plus Prarieville which is a little closer to Baton Rouge. We're getting wind gusts up to 40 mph but not too much rain. Sustained winds up to 40 mph due later tonight and tomorrow with the cold front. Sometimes being closer to the Gulf helps!

Well, I can't say I've heard of this before, but I'm not really shocked either.

Wow -- even in the middle of the night how would you be able to do something like that?! You would need some pretty serious equipment just to remove and haul away 200 rims and tires -- it's hard to believe that nobody drove by while this was going on and thought something might be up?! The only thing I can think of is that the thieves were so brazen about it that it made everything they were doing look legitimate.....

Looks as if I will need to jump in the car today and run up to Temple so I can look at a job first thing in the morning up there. Next week it's back to Minneapolis on Monday through Thursday, and then a job to look at here in the Houston area on Friday.....
