Wife called, yard and streets are flooded. I just checked, a couple of the roads I use to get home are closed. Gonna have to take a longer way home. She was up all night worrying about the flooding. Says she thinks we got 4-5 inches on already saturated area.

Thats crazy, How much have rain have you received since this all started?

We had that 6 inch storm in 90 minutes last week, filled up lake Nasworthy, within 2 days most all had soaked in. Since then just a few half inch to inch storms. Last night got 1 1/2 inch and it still soaks right in to the yard.

We have been getting 1 to 2 1/2 inches daily for about 10 days. There was already standing water everywhere, all streams and ponds full. Then got heavy rainfall last night, more expected this afternoon.

All those rain amount's are unusual for Texas but common for Louisiana...Cajun's have webbed feet and can handle the water a lot better!

Last week when we were down at my daughters, we were all going to their home from Sugar Land about 10:00 at night(about 18 miles south on rural highways). There was an 8 to 9 foot alligator crossing the road. Son in law got out and encouraged him with a stick to get on across.

Not unusual down here...on Hwy 90 we have to dodge thrown recaps and alligator's this time of year. Not good at 70 mph!

Just made a quick trip to the bank and waiting for my yard to dry up before I mow it...can't wait too long because it will rain this evening.
