I was gonna spend some quality time with the truck today, but the weather decided to be rainy all day. Good thing I'm off for the next two weeks Guess I'll just have to do it tomorrow.

I've been keeping an eye on a thread on another forum about the twirly plastic things inside the intake pipes on the Ecoboost. Apparently they are called "intake mounted turbo silencers," and if you remove them, you can hear the turbo whistle much better. However, some are arguing that they help with the air flow by spinning the air. Does anyone know if these things matter? I'd like to remove them if all they are is silencers, but if they are more than that I don't want to mess anything up. Pat, 88, or anyone else with actual technical knowledge, what do you think?

That's what I thought too! If they're just silencers, I'm yanking 'em.

Just got done with another 500 mile trip today.

Had a very close encounter this morning with a deer. I thought the EB was going to take a hit.. Was cruising down a little Farm to Market Road at 85mph and he came across the road.

I had that happen to me 2 years ago. Only 35-40 mph though. Scared me...I was shaking. Saw it and slowed down then it ran across the road and straight at me. I slammed on the brakes and the car behind me must have been so startled because they sat there even after I got going again. Those things are so spastic. You got real lucky

A 5.0L wouldn't have had any trouble getting there in time to hit it. Good thing you only had 6 cylinders

That wasn't a deer!! That was a small dog! I aim for deer that size but I can't seem to keep them from running when they hear the turbo spool up.

I really thought i was going to get him, i think the little swerve to the left i did was the reason i didn't get him, It was super close either way.

For the 8 years we have lived out in the country, I have hit 4 deer all in different vehicles. Ford Explorer, E150, Lincoln Mark Viii and a Crown Vic. The Wife has had 3 deer hits with a Ford Taurus, Mercury Grand Marquis and a Chrysler Town and Country.

Plus I had a Buzzard hit with the KR.

The County has a frontend loader come down the road in the winter time picking up all the dead deer. He always has 10 to 15 deer in the bucket.

Made it down to the local dealer to finally check out the 2015's. First thing I wanted to look at were the aluminum body panels -- they seem pretty stout!

But holy crap am I glad I bought my truck when I did! Both trucks on the lot MSRP'd at around $45k and even with discounts that seems like an insane price to pay for a truck! For all the guys driving nice rigs out there, what in God's name are your monthly payments?!!

Actually, my favorite truck on the lot was a 2014 Tremor -- what a sweet little ride! But once again, it listed for around $45k.....?!!!

Ive seen a few tremors marked down to around 35k.. That would make a great vehicle to have sitting in your garage, especially in 10 or so years when you only have 5k miles on it

I was wanting a nicer model when i was looking for a new truck but i HATE payments so decided to go with just a XLT, was able to get a good trade in value and paid the rest in cash to get the EB. No truck payments are nice!
