Nice old Impala, Paw -- what color was the interior on that one?

One of my brother-in-law's has got a '62 Impala SS -- black with a red interior. It only has the 283 in it, but that car in that color combination sure grabs attention no matter where it goes!

I have already told my brother-in-law that if he doesn't leave either that car, or his '69 Chevelle SS (light green with a black vinyl top -- 396 big block with a 4-speed) to me in his will, I'm going to kill him again.....

I crawled under the truck and took all those off (the ones that were left) and replaced them with extruded U-nuts and locking flange bolts. That thing is definitely not coming off again, at least not by accident.

I guess that's one thing I'll miss about running a bolt store
One of those splash shield deals got ripped off of one of our trucks too 2 weeks ago. I think it's asinine that it's even on there at all. It's a damn 4x4. And you put plastic/cloth crap on it that's prone to getting snagged on things and ripped off? Don't get that at all.

The one I had was just the Impala not the SS model. It had the straight front seat and the interior was tan cloth and vinyl. I also had a '63 Impala that was black with the red interior...I bought it in 1972 for $200 buck's! Later I had a 1970 that was the putrid light green with green interior. It looked like a big lizard but was a good work car.

Yeah -- my BIL's Chevelle is that same light green that your '70 probably was, but the black vinyl top set's it off pretty well and I actually don't mind the color on that car!

My first car (a '69 Delta 88 that I received as a hand-me-down from my parents) was also that infamous late-60's/early-70's light green that was so popular in that era and I absolutely HATED it at the time! I spent most of my time trying to make the light green interior black with rattle-can vinyl dye I purchased at the local auto parts store, with limited success......

I actually grew up in a GM family, and thinking back I believe someone in our large clan had virtually every variation of full-size Chevrolet from 1961 to 1972 -- the only ones I can't recall someone having were '68's and '69's. Once we got into the mid-70's they all started making more money and switched to Oldsmobiles and Buicks!

This was the first car I bought brand new...I ordered it when I was 18 yrs old and wish I would still have it. 1966 GTO 4 speed with the tri-power engine and a 3.90 rear.

For some reason or another, we never had many Pontiac's in our family fleet. The only one I can remember was one of my BIL's had a '72 Gran Prix -- silver with a black vinyl landau top. Neat car until my sister introduced it to a guard rail on the way to work one morning and they ended up with a new '76 Monte Carlo (white with a burgundy vinyl landau top) to replace it!

My dad and my uncle had stock in GM back in the 60's and 70's when it was worth something so we all had GM vehicles. My brother had a '69 Nova SS 396 black with a 4 speed that he bought new. He sold it in 1971 to get a new 1972 Corvette. I remember picking up a new 1971 Buick Riviera that had the 455 engine. Only oddball vehicle my dad bought was a 1962 Volvo P-1800...Volvo's version of a sport's car. Great to have a muscle car back in the '60's in New Orleans!!
