Let's start over......
Family is trying to convince me to sell the truck and buy a more fuel efficient vehicle and something more "business friendly"....
Only option I see there is to buy an Ecoboost.

Don't forget the 5.0 either....gets about the same mpgs....ya there's a difference in output but its a good engine platform with less issues
Many businessmen around here drive trucks. Like 88 said, I would prefer the 5.0.

Bluejay- I plan to move back out to Texas come next summer if I can find an opportunity out there, Dallas or Houston area hopefully. At the moment in the Atlanta area I can't park in about 95% of parking garages though, so I could see the same problem arising with my current setup.

if you can stick with the f series these newer ones are better than the past generations....at least ford went in the right direction with these...imo

Werd! Really, there's not THAT big a difference in output, either. IMHO, the ecoboost is just a little better for lots of towing. However, my 5.0 ain't let me down at all in that department either.
I tow the boat in my sig... Occasional trailer moving things like I did the other day to move into a new apartment. If my 5.4 with 3.55's can pull it fine, I am not worried about either of the new engines.
Yep. I'm a "businessman" (so to speak

. I think the hardest thing for me (if I were to get a new truck) would be to not just restart the modding instantly and destroy any gas mileage savings.
One year after the purchase, you see how that worked out.
But if your mods are similar to mine, you won't notice much of a decrease in mpg at all. Leveling kit, wheels, and 275/70/18 Cooper ST Maxx tires are the only things that hurt my mileage at all, and it was very minimal.
IMHO, a good lookin' truck doesn't have to have a big ol' lift 'n tars.
