For the first time in my life I have not changed a truck. Normally, I have exhaust within a few days of the purchase.

I lost just over a mpg on mine even with supposedly the same size tire. However, the replacement tire is a little taller, a little wider and softer.

Reckon what the difference in weight is between yer factory tars and the replacements, Jim? The OEM tars are VERY lightweight (intentional in order to get optimal fuel economy, I'm sure).

I have no idea. They are the Toyo Open Country H/T 265/60/18. The factory tires were Michelins. The Toyos are softer and handle a lot better.

Ah! The tires you have now weigh 45lbs each, and IIRC, the factory tires are around 35lbs each. That could be part of it.

Yep. Weight, slightly taller which affects the reading, and wider footprint which means more resistance. Altogether equaled about 1.2 mpg that I never expected. Coulda had 20s!
