So the hotel I was staying at in the middle of downtown jacked the rates up to $600/night since Comicon is in town. I had to go to Rancho Bernardo, about 20 miles north, to get a hotel for my last night here.

Several of us from work went out on the town and sent out last night out in style. Crashed sometime after 1AM. 5AM came way to fast. I'm tired but it was fun.

Headed back home tomorrow afternoon.

It's back on four wheels for the time being if I don't get a wild hair up my butt and take it all the way apart to get it sand blasted and painted. My wife is begining to question my sanity at the moment.

Random questions:

OEM chrome running boards, like the ones I have on my truck, will only fit on a Ford right? Supercab I know obviously. Just in case I sell them cause I'm wanting too.

2nd, never really thought about it but I was talking to my dad the other day about getting my new gears. Its about a 2hr drive back and I asked him how we would let the gears cool off without stopping all the time because I saw on here that you have to do that with new gears. Ya I know you have to have the whole "break in" period and just take it easy, but he brought up ( being that he used to be a ford mechanic) that he used to change gears all the time and he's never heard that you have to let the cool down. Cause it's like a new car, you don't have to let them cool off. So do you or don't you?

Never heard about letting gears cool down.

Several years ago my family was going to visit my grandparents in Southern Indiana. Gears started to fail on the trip up there. Got new gears installed in the van and drove back home a little over 300 miles without stops.

I towed a pontoon boat with my truck tonight. It wasn't very heavy but the most I've towed with this truck so far. I have to say I was kind of disappointed in the way the truck pulled it.

Morning.

Matt, I towed our Master Craft Wednesday with my dads Tahoe and the first hill I hit the first words out of my mouth was I miss my diesel already. Johns right about the custom tunes they do make a difference because I could really tell the difference when I had my F150 between stock and the tow tune.
