ManualF150's Beer Thoughts...
For God's sakes do not answer him.
The last thing you need is Bucky rollong up your driveway with his 'soft tub' in the bed of his truck and a case of wine under his arm while wearing only cowboy boots, a speedo, and a cowboy hat.
Just ignore him and he will leave you alone.

you will get used to it, youve been drinking for what 2 weeks now? beer is an acquired taste. i recommend sticking to the mixed drinks for a while then once you get sick of that try a very mellow lager miller light, but light....or dos equis is a great beer to start on. dont go straight for the micro brewery stuff it will be very strong tasting and you wont like it
I t is too bad that we cannot get Yuenging here inOhio---but when I am close to the Pa. border, I can get some---Sharno PA. is not too far away.
Lately, I have been enjoying Leinenkugel's Classic Amber. Very nice taste to it. I like it better than their Fireside Nut Brown. The Red is good, too. The Classic Amber Lager is probably the best Amber that I have tasted in a long, long while.

I like to try different/weird beer too but just can't bring myself to spend more than 7 or 8 bucks for a beer that I may just throw out. I usually drink Shiner Bock, Shiner Blonde, Lone Star, and if I'm with my buddies it's Bud Light. I do like to find out more about different kinds of beer so this thread is interesting.
I love microbrewery's here in the northeast we have magic hat and Ithica brewery which I love but I am a HUGE fan of Sierra Nevada and the Blue moon beers of winter, I love the Pale Moon and full Moons but im also in college so come weekends I stick to Budweiser all the way and when your ice fishing you gotta break out the Jim Beam or Old Crow and some genny screamers (Genessee cream ale)-->really cheap beer .
magic hat is the worst beer Ive ever tasted. But I know LOTS of guys who drink the stuff buy the case. its just not for me. Now blue moon is great I was at a fishing tournament watching the big boats role in from there offshore fishing when my waitress asked me if I wanted to try it. (me and my buddy had been there a few hours) she said if I didnt like it then she wouldnt charge me for it. It came in a glass with an orange I remember it in detail because it was so good.
mostly I stick to budlight but I'm slowly moving to dos equis even with the extra price its worth it plus buds going up.

Argh.... lol... you made me do it.
Seriously... NCSU, I was going to revive this thead yesterday.
Must be thinking on the same page or something.
Anyhoo... time to really revive this baby!
I've got two (yes, 2!) beers up on the chopping block for tasting... after living on OM Light and Utica Club Light all summer, it's time for fall/winter to really take beer to it's most prized acclaim.
Here's number 1:

Southern Tier 422 - Pale Wheat Ale - Made in USA, Lakewood, Ny
The overall quality of this beer is average. I find it rather strong compared to other wheat ales, however it isn't like a Black and Tan bitter. The beer is filtered, but it is foggy. The taste is refreshing, but somewhat short lived. It does not leave any bad after tastes, and is suited well with food. I bought four 6 packs of these, and I've yet to get one with a good head.
It is rather unique though -- this beer is focused around the environment (Earth Day -- As it states "Make Everyday Earth Day") as the cap on it has the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" logo on it. It also states that the beer is naturally made (I'd hope!).
I rate it average as a 3 out of 5.
Here's number 2:

Wailua - Wheat Ale Brewed with Passion Fruit - Kona Brewing Co. - Portsmouth, NH (Don't be mislead -- it isn't brewed in Kona, HI... even though it says "Handcrafted in Kona Hawaii"!)
The beer is another wheat ale. It again is filtered, but has a rather unique taste to it. You really can't taste the passion fruit (thank God it isn't wasn't some rammed up taste of fruit in a beer), but it does add some sweetness to the beer making it a rather girlie beer. There is no bad aftertaste, and it is relatively smooth. Same thing with the Souther Tier 422, I couldn't get a good head off this beer after 12 of them.
I don't recommend this beer with food other than heavy items like steaks or surf and turf, unless you don't mind a fruity beer.
But I bought the beer thinking it was made in Kona, Hawaii... until I read deeper. It actually lies! What a gimmick! But it's beer and it made me happy for the moment.
I'd rate it a 2.5 out of 5. <-- Would've rated it an average of 3, but they LIED saying it was made in Hawaii!
Again -- Enjoy and of course DRINK RESPONSIBLY -- Please don't drink and drive!

Manual, those wheats are summer beers. Possibly stale by now. You also do not typically get a big head from a filtered wheat.
GCW, which Magic Hats have you tried? They have a large selection. I enjoy most of them.
