Unfortunatly I don't always find time to follow current political runners but I must say that I'm glad this was posted. After doing some research on Mr. Paul I must say that I am thoroughly impressed. Funny how I really hear no mention of him on tv/newspapers here. Like it said in the video the press was pushing for the Rudy/Hillary matchup. I would def. like to see this man get into office and even moreso, stick by his guns on his ideas / princinples. Thanks for the post!

I joke on the guy but, it is true I admire his war policy.
He was one of only six republicans to vote against the Iraq resolution back in '02.
Of course there were 126 democrats standing with those six republicans.

Over in the senate, standing even more alone were 23 senators, and one of those has a legitimate shot, Obama.

True, he was an Illinois state senator at the time.
Still, he is on record against Iraq along with Paul.
His record in the US Senate since '04 has been consistent.
I think Kusinich is the only other one running.

(p.s.
why in the hell is somebody who didn't know who Paul was a month ago, checking my facts anyway!)

If Ron Paul sticks to his promises, he'd make a great president for this country. As a registered Republican, I was getting worried that there wouldn't be a candidate for whom I could cast my vote. I am not so sure now, this is looking promising.

Raoul,

I think I could vote for Kusinich before Clinton or Obama. I think they are basically the same old thing rehashed. Kusinich, as left as he may be, at least says what he thinks.

I'm tired of the fluff and lies. I want someone who has integrity.

I could vote for Kusinich or Paul but because Paul is just about as aligned with my views as a candidate can be he will get my vote.

Voting Obama is a real bad idea America.

I got to wait and see who is on the ticket.

The problem I have with third party is they have never won.
They are however, more aligned with one of the Parties that they in fact pull votes from what would be your second choice(if you had a gun to your head) and that catapults your third (Last) choice into the White House.

A case could be made that this occured in:
1968 - Nixon - Humphrey - Wallace
1992 - Clinton - Bush - Perot
1996 - Clinton - Dole - Perot
2000 - Bush - Gore - Nader

The theory doesn't hold for elections 1980, 1984, 1988 which were all landsides, still Anderson and Jackson pulled millions of votes from the loser.

I'm with you that now is the time to pull hard for your man.
I do the same but, if he doesn't make the cut I got to let it go.

Exactly.
I think Perot pulled more votes from Bush and Dole than he did Clinton, in either election.

You got that right. I just wonder who Ron Paul would pull votes from more as an Independent?

His stance on the war is my biggest hold up on him; but, most of his campaign is pie in the sky hoke. The president isn't king and the Congress isn't going to go for most of it. The guy is a wasted vote from my perspective. If he were to win though, it would be a mess.

Remember this from another thread?
http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html

I selected 'NO' for every answer. I also selected 'HIGH' for importance.

It wasn't even close, Ron Paul blew everybody away with 73.91%

Second place was Kusinich at 47.84%, even he must think Pauls' elevator doesn't stop on all the floors.

That said, the only combo I could vote 'R' is if the 'D' is Hillary and the 'R' is Ron Paul.
It would make me sick to see her win but, I can't pull the lever for a Bush clone.
