Many online petitions have been signed and about every Toyota forum has a topic regarding engine sludge with hundreds of post and complaints.

Tis True, Tis True. A lady I work with can't even drive her Tundra right now because of a ball joint problem that it is being recalled for. BALL JOINT problem. Seems that something with the design allows them just to snap right out and BAM, your rolling end over end down the interstate. The dealer is having a hard time even getting the replacements shipped to them so they can take care of this, and all they can tell her is not to drive the truck.

Isn't that nice? A new truck she can't even drive until they get the parts in, but she still has to make the payment every month.

I also talked with a friend who has a new Titan. His truck will kick my trucks *** in a race with no load, but he is very unhappy when he has to haul anything. That wonderful Titan bogs on the slightest of hills, and all that power when he's not loaded just disappears with a full bed or trailer. He wishes he had his old F-150 back.

Japan can't build a better truck than what America can, but for those of you who want to believe they can, then by all means, go buy yourself one of these wonderful pieces of crap. They may go faster, but they don't go longer.

Still have as of yet to see a new Tundra on the interstate with a good size trailer keeping up with the 75 MPH speed limit here on the slightly hilly roads. I'm going to start taking pics of these poor people duped into thinking they were buying real pickups only to find out that the most used feature on the truck is the emergency flashers.

Everyone is always bringing up the Tundra, which I know is more comparable to the F150, but I kinda like the Tacoma.

the only good thing toyota is building right now. That thing has bragging rights in its class, but im sure toyota will kill that thing too soon enough. You cant even get a deal on those things. Used tacos in the same year as a used f150 will sell for thousands more too.

tis a shame.

Toyota's reputation isnt what it once was. Poor quality has bit them in the butt because they are obsessed with becoming #1 in sales.
The perception may be that Toyota's quality and reliability is superior, but in reality they are no better than Ford or GM nowdays.
Not to mention that fact that Toyota has horrible customer service.
I owned Toyotas before I owned Fords and I would never go back to Toyota.
I kind of had to laugh at the comment that the Tacoma is the only good thing Toyota makes. Tacomas have horrible issues with engine ticking, vibration and the tailgates bend easily. Id buy a Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon before I bought a Tacoma (and the Colorado/Canyon have their fair share of issues as well!).

Honestly, what on earth did ANYONE expect the replies to this thread to be? It again begs the question WHY?

I went around to all the brands to test drive trucks today. NOT A SINGLE DEALER I went to had an extended cab, 6' bed 2wd. None, zip, zero, nada. 85% of the truck I saw were 4wd crew cabs. The only 2wd's were reg cab, 8' beds & only Ford & Chevy had them, plus a single GMC work truck. I know 90% of customers want a 4wd, but I don't. Of course, every dealer tried to get me to buy a 4wd. I told every one of them the only way I would buy a 4wd would be if they completely removed the price of the 4wd system from the cost. All said no. There was a F-250 Powerstroke on the lot for $50000! There was a GMC 2500 Duramax for $51500! The one Tundra I looked at was $44000. No way around this, the Tundra is FUGLY. I honestly want to know what Toyota was thinking when they approved that interior, especially the dashboard. Holy crap, it's hideous & poorly laid out.

American. What else would it be? Ford is an American company afterall. Where it was made is really insignifigant.
Id buy a foreign-made Ford over an American-made Toyota. At least with the Ford the money is staying here in this country instead of being sent halfway around the world to put food on the table of some family in Japanland.
Granted, Id rathar Ford have as many American parts suppliers and assemle the vehicles as much in the U.S. of A as possible, but no matter how many factories Toyota builds in the USA, its still a foreign car company.

Did anyone catch the news about Ford and GM getting out of the fleet sales business?

If this is true who will pick that up? Hmmm, lets see. Toyota?

When that happens, by truck sales they will sell more.

Personally I think the new Toyotas are really bad looking. The rear fenders looks goofy and then put a little tire on them? Just looks really, really out of proportion.

Been seeing them more at Campgrounds but still nothing pulling anything of size. Just small campers.

BTW, in order to get the 10.5K tow on a Toyota is to get the smaller cab, longer bed, 4.10 gears, bigger engine, optional tow package. Add all that stuff up and you can get a oil burner.

I like Ford trucks...I like Chevy ok, my second choice. I would never own a Dodge.

But, if I could have a Cummins and an Allison put in the new 08 F250, you would have the number one selling truck ever made. No reason to buy anything else.

Final thought. Wife had 4 Accords and then we bought a Camery thinking it was going to be better...what a major joke. Should have keep the Honda's, better cars.
