Congress has tried various measures to 'throw a wrench in' and they don't have the votes to override Bush's VETO. This 'war' marches...trudges on.

Unless you mean that the mere questioning of the war is attempting to derail, 'monkey wrench' it.

If that's the case, we are chasing our tail here and pretty much what I stated previously above is true.

I disagree with what is going on in regard to our foriegn policy.
What vehicle, what outlet do I have to express myself that would meet the guidelines of what you consider acceptable?

If I knew what type of expression would not offend you I would choice that path.
We have met personally and you're a great guy.
I know you are passionate on this topic, and your passion has not offended me.
I am passionate about it too. At the same time I don't want to offend you.

Disagreeing with the war, in fact wanting to end it is not unpatriotic. Supporting the troops doesn't mean leaving them there indefinitely with no end goal. I can't imagine going to work everyday, putting my life on the line, and not knowing the end goal.

I, for one, support the troops. I send money to organizations that send care packages, I thank them when I see them. I want to bring them home. I don't care how we spin it, just get them back here.

I could handle a soldier dying stopping an illegal alien from sneaking in before I can one dying in Baghdad.

True conservatives use war as a last resort. We don't do it preemptively. We certainly do use it to bring democracy or opportunity to others. We don't meddle in others' affairs and wonder why people hate us. We don't make a checklist of enemies, publicly declare it for the world and start moving down that list.

 

Whew! I just got a scare.

My PC slowed to a crawl in this thread and the first thing that popped into my head was,
"...oh no...Burt has typed.....A Response!"

Then I discovered it was just Steve doing his 10am maintenance.

Raoul = VA (understands time zones)
bluejay = TX time zones...texas don't need no dang time zones

There was a thread way back where we posted self pics and everybody said his looked liked Burt Reynolds. That's where he picked up the nickname 'Burt'. Plus he's on like his third vehicle since that original '01 XLT F-150.
