A co-worker friend of mine used that Chantrix tablets to quit dipping snuff. He has completely quit dipping and doesn't take the tablets any more either.

So what it makes it taste bad or do you just not get the satisfaction anymore? Im going to try cold turkey first and if the cravings are too strong im going to make an appointment to see my doctor about perscribing it. I wonder if anyone at work will notice i wont be wearing Marlboro Light Cologne anymore?

No, just no satisfaction...Wellbutrin will make them taste nasty...and help with the cravings..it's a Depression medicine, so make sure your doctor prescribes welbutrin for depression so your ins co will pay for it..

The BP thing is a myth. Seriously! I salt EVERYTHING and my bp is perfectly normal. It actually drops low from time to time. My mom had high blood pressure so you'd think I would too.... nope. So yea, I promote salt!

Damn all this talk makes me want a

I'm the worst kind of smoker - I pick it up and drop it anytime I wish. I'll go days, weeks, months and get a pack for the hell of it... then nothing.

Smoked last weekend in Chicago, before that memorial day when a smoking friend was in town. Social smoking kicks ***.

I don't get why people make this so hard on themselves. I smoked for 9 years, a pack or more a day. I quit cold turkey 4yrs ago and haven't looked back. Just look at the things that are important to you in life, and realize that if you keep smoking you will no longer be able to enjoy these things. Nothing is gonna help you quit unless its what you want, not what someone else is making you do. Would you want your kid to smoke? Probably not right. Well you have to lead by example. You can't tell them not to smoke when they see daddy puffing away. If you don't have kids, think about the family members that would be hurt if you got sick. Its just like anything else in life man, you have to apply yourself 100% in order to achieve your goal. I mean to me its easy as choosing to live or die. I prefer to live thats why I quit. I hope you make the right choice. Good Luck

Yeah i know what you mean by leading by example. Thats how i got started in the first place. My older brother started smoking at 15 and i looked up to him (and still do) because i thought EVERYTHING he did was cool. I was 13 when i had my first puff of a cig and everytime my brother see's me light up he tells me he made a huge mistake that day. I do agree with you because my father actually stopped smoking the day my mother told him she was pregnant with my older brother. So my fathers been smoke free for about almost three decades and i know my father didnt do it for his health, but for ours.

I have cut from 1 1/2 - 2 packs a day down to 3/4-1 pack most days and I have always burned them down to the filter. All real smokers do because real smokers know thats where the heroine is.

I smoked a pack a day for about twenty years. Quit cold turkey 12 years ago. Why? Because I didn't want to smoke anymore. Was it easy? No, but I wanted to quit so I did. If you don't really want to quit, you won't. If you are quitting because someone else is pressuring you, or some group is pressuring you, you won't. If you are quitting because you relly want to, then you will..........
