You have my sympathy. It's not an easy road, but it can be done.

I didn't know you smoked. No big deal, I quit about 5 years ago. I have since picked up a nastier habit.....Copenhagen....I love it, but the wife HATES it.

I need to quit, but Like Matt here ..... I'm in no immediate hurry.

I appreciate the help and that was really funny too

I almost played it out; but, that would have been cruel. It's so much easier to quit smoking if you never start. One of my buddies just recently had the shots to help him quit. Two behind the ear and one in the hip. He swears by it; but, he's only quit now for 90 days. He says he doesn't crave them at all anymore.

I smoked since 1983.. Quit for a couple of years (96-97). I stopped smoking this past February. Once I realized I will still crave cigs no matter how long it has been since my last smoke, (this may sound weird but) it makes it much easier for me to handle. Consider yourself a smoker that does not smoke anymore.

I tried patches... but I did not like all the weird dreams. I have almost a full pack downstairs. Along with a pack of the Mints (NASTY).

Good luck...

The only thing that will help you quit is if you really WANT to quit.

I've been copenhagen free for 21 days now, so if you wanna quit there is no reason you can't!!

good luck and let me know how your doing

if you've tried patches, gum etc or just stopping cold turkey and they haven't worked I've heard hypnotism works but have no experience to verify it

Just quit cold turkey. Worked for me. If your head's in the game it'll be easy to quit cold turkey.

Do it for your health, family, and friends. I fish with a guy at work who's nearing retirement age (<5 yrs) - about 7 months ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer, they took out his lung and for now, he'll live. Doctors tell him don't make any long term plans. It sucks, but I don't feel sorry for him. Smokers know the risks. People may think I'm a ***** when it comes to this but none of them can tell me they didn't know smoking kills you.

Good luck!

It's only been proven that secondhand smoke kills you...

missing a lung, or having you arteries blocked by tar and nicotine...now thats what kills you,...sheesh...non smokers and their soapboxes

Actually i have 1 cig left now too because i smoked one at lunch and i gave one to my boss and the other to a co-worker. I was feeling charitable and looking foward to quiting. Im going to have my last one on the way home from work and i will consider tommorow morning day 1. Thanks for jumping on board with me and let me know how the Chantrix makes you feel.

sounds like a plan....I've been taking it for a week now..it says too smoke for the first week then when there is enough of the medicine in your system you'll be able to tell the difference. It's supposed to block the enjoyment your brain gets from the nicotine...oh and BTW, It wasnt covered by my PRescription Plan...cost 109 bucks for a 1-2 month supply..

No, I don't eat salt by itself, that's just weird. But I do salt everything... fruit, pizza, you name it. :-) SALT ROCKS!
