Bought new car...
if you have the $$$ to buy a $100k car, dont you think you might be smart enough to know it is a bad investment?
i have never bought a car based on resale value. it was usually what I; wanted, needed or could afford.
we all know that the best way to buy a car is to buy a used one that is a year or 2 old and to pay cash. so who all did it this way?
Also remember some people buy company cars and they get the tax benefits. the IRS has no right to tell you "should have bought a Edge this BMW is to much" if i wanted to haul golf *****, a dozen at a time, i can buy a loaded f350 King Ranch 4 x 4 to do it and get the tax deductions.
in Texas when you trade in a vehicle , they take the trade in price off the sale price so you dont pay tax on the trade-in value.
i am very excited because using the logic of this poster i just realized I have a loaded ls430 on chrome 18" that is mine. (my mom lives 1/2 mile away and I just called her and i can use the car anytime I want)

She bought a two-door coupe struggled with a child carseat for one day and took it back to the same dealership and got a 4 door.
I don't know the Classes but both cars were in the 85K range.
She lost $7,000 after one day of ownership
and never batted an eye.
Kinda late but... This guy is full of B.S. I know a few people from my high school that are just like him. Pathelogical(sp?) liars. They make up a story then you call them out on it, then they change up the original story.
Hersh, he traded the M6 for a 2007 Super Duty F-350 King Ranch 4x4 6.0L Crew Cab (with every single available option) and a check for $32,500. I'd have done it too, if I was rich beyond my wildest dreams like that guy is.
