Bought new car...
Congrats to your mom dude!
Just as a personal comment to all on the forum...
I do like BMWs, Lamborghinis, etc...
Is just that I don't "see" 100000uss on those cars.., the wheels... are. well.. wheels.. like any other, the paint is.. well the same color as other million cars..
Does it has gold somewhere..? if so, what for?..
I understand that exclusiveness costs also, granted, ...still, too much.
Also.., the reaction you get with the design-power-etc. I agree we have to pay for that, ...still, too much.
I understand it may cost a lot more than a Mustang to build it, but 400-500% more??? noup, I don't think so.
So I supose to sum it up I believe is ridyculous the prices some cars get.
Any way, is good to be able to be ridiculous sometimes

You have no clue, do you?

Just for giggles (values are from NADAGuides.com):
Base MSRP of a 2007 M5 (with Gas Guzzler tax): $86,895
Average Retail of base 2006 M5 with $15k miles: $81,100
So, the M5 has tremendous resale value, holding 93% of its value after one year...and that is off of MSRP.
Not that those with $100k for a car really care that much though. Maybe someday I will be in their shoes...yeah, right!
Now, contrast that with my '05 F150. MSRP was $35k...I paid $24k. So, I only paid 69% of MSRP. The value after 1 year is probably closer to 55-60% of MSRP.

AKA THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE, I used to work at a BMW dealership back in 2000 and they do have some of the sweetest cars out there. The semi that delivers these cars to dealerships only carry about 4 to 6 im not sure but on the sides of the trailers they say DELIVERING SOMEONES BABY.
Nice ride BTW.

And yes, when you get 30+% off MSRP on a Ford truck, it's value holds really well. NADAGuides says retail for my truck with 15k (it only has 11k) is $25k+....$1k more than I paid.
That's not too shabby...if I could only get that for it.
And yes, that Bimmer is one sharp piece of machinery.
Like I said...with all these post "I sold my F150 and bought a prius" posts I thought I would be a jackass and start something. I dont really think anyone really relied on my credibility on here anyway. So I could care less. It's basically my car anyway because I can drive it all I want anyway. So dont cry. Its ok...
As far as the rear axle...I like cheese enchiladas!

Actually, the figures quoted on holding it's value are not true. Not wrong, but not true.
Buy a car for 100 k in California and out the door it is 116,000 with tax and license. The quoted prices never mention that you don't get the tax etc. back.
So if it sold for 93,000 the next day (and you wouldn't get that) you still lose 23k for owning it one hour.
That's just how it works. It applies to any car/truck but when the numbers get high few people buy used thus making it even harder to sell.
20% loss on a car in a day is actually pretty good.
Do the math.

i know they do, but compared to what you buy it from the dealer for and what its MSRP is....you lose a fair amount of money as soon as it comes off the lot.
we've owned 3 BMW's......
