The 911 Terrorists were mostly from Saudi Arabia, none were from Iraq.

At any rate by our actions in Iraq I believe we have created more potential Terrorists not less.
How does bombing and rebuilding Iraq stop the Terrorists who primarily operate from other countries?

You think its going to deter them? I think it feeds them as they can point to our actions to create more hatred.

As for children they will be the ones who will still be bearing the financial consequence of this misguided war.

These arguments for the Iraq war are reminiscent of the tactics that were used to justify Vietnam,
in the sense that our government created as much fear and misinformation as possible to further their objectives,
which I believe in both cases were not in the public’s best interest.

I read all this stuff and just try to stay quiet, but I just wonder, had you been President after 9/11, what would you have done? Every one has all this great advice and always spouting about how things would be better if....

I sometimes wish we could return to simpler times when there was less information available, and a large protion of the population was not "smarter" than whomever has the position of President at the moment. That is going to be the undoing of this nation. That and the moral decay.

Yes there'll always be more terrorists coming along and they may hate us more, but what we're doing is surely doing some kind of deturing.

When we drop bombs, I'm pretty sure they're aimed at killing terrorists within the country. We're rebuilding so people can try and go on living a normal life and have the children go to school and hopefully influence them on what is right and wrong, so they don't grow up wanting to kill us.

And as far as cost goes, freedom,security and your right to free speech come at a price, not only in lives.

The last time I checked, the publics best interest is to live in a country free of terrorists and having the satisfaction of knowing we're doing our best to keep it that way.

I could also present a lot more data, but the average American only sees soldiers and Iraqi civilians dying. I guess that's all that's happening, because I wouldn't want to make the anti-war supporters mad.

I was listening to NPR yesterday, and was shocked to hear them reporting that indeed the majority of the killing and bombing in Iraq is being perpetrated by foreign nationals, rather than Iraqis. Not that I hadn't been reading such, and hearing it, on what is referred to as the right-wing media by libs. I was just surprised to hear it repeated on NPR. How that can be described as a civil war is beyond stupid. Your Moveon.org brainwashed arguments are nothing more than an irritation. You are very persistent.

I have to admit though, the liberals have slowly been able to sway public opinion quite effectively since the day after we entered Iraq. That is, after all, when they started attacking every move the President has made. There's plenty of criticism and no honest attempts to suggest anything, that hasn't already proven ineffective in the past, as an alternative plan of action.

Back to the “Conservative good” “Liberal bad” mantra again I see.

You just seem unable to grasp the fact that many other conservatives share the same views as I do. They see nothing conservative in this war at all.

I can only draw the conclusion that you feel you must label anyone who thinks for them self, and does not blindly follow the government’s rhetoric, is by default a Liberal. This is far from the truth.

 

Forget the stupid "conservative or liberal" ideology. That alone is a mini-civil war tearing our country apart from the inside out. Doing what's RIGHT is the only thing that matters. WAR is the only answer unfortunately.

Political agenda has nothing to do with fighting terror. Do you think the soldier's over there fight the war by talking the terrorist to death with stupid political arguments? Action is what makes change. Not talking. This country has to be united to stand. Divided we fall. Until that changes, nothing much else will either. Politics is nothing but a racket.

 

Think about this for one second, when a democratic government is fully established with ties to the west the terrorists are gonna have another enemy and one less place to hide. Now, the Iraqi government will be able to crush them without bleeding heart losers crying about how the terrorists should be treated better. A fully equipped and trained Iraqi army would be the terrorists worst enemy in the ME, them and Israel get together. Buh bye terrorits. (eventually)

You dont wanna lose more soldiers on the ground, fine send in some B-52s and wipe them off the map. But that wouldnt be right either would it. Face it, there is no pleasing people like you. You bash every option that people come up with but offer no solutions of your own that doesnt involve running away.
And no I do not think it would be a good idea to kill all the Iraqi people, but that is the only other way to end it.

If there was an actual democracy in Iraq the democratically elected government could very well be religious extremists. What you mean to say is a government that has the facade of a democracy but which is actually a puppet controlled by the U.S. Similar to the support we provide to the Saudi Royal Family in disregard to the well being of the populous of that country.

The only thing the Shiites and Sunnis hate more than each other is the U.S. And you think they are going to form a government together and attack the enemies of the U.S.?
