I thought Iraq didnt have WMDs?
[QUOTE=Dr. Franko]I see that the situation is worse now than before we spent 350 billion and caused the deaths of countless thousands in order to create civil in Iraq with no end in sight.
I see that this was possibly the largest transference of wealth from the populous to special interests in the history of the world.
I see that the military industrial complex has staged a raid on the national treasury and we have accomplished noting other than the aforementioned.

So the allies should have cut and run from Europe and the Pacific after some people were killed? Singapore, Dunkirk, the Phillipines, Dieppe, Hong Kong, etc.
Saddam had killed thousands of Iraqis who opposed him and tortured thousands more. But I guess since you didnt see that on CNN it wasnt all that bad.
No point in trying to create a free Iraq? No end in sight? How do ya think Britain felt during WW2? Especially when the Luftwaffe was bombing them around the clock. Funny thing, when people and their leaders have the ***** to stand up to evil regimes good will prevail. Democracy returned to Germany after how many people died and how much was spent. Looking back was that a mistake?
You dont think the manufacturers of weapons and supplies made lots of money off WW1 and WW2, Korea etc? They sure did, but the Allies never could have won without the Sherman tanks, Garand and Enfield rifles, P-51s, Spitfires, aircraft carriers, supply trucks, uniforms.
When did any good change come easily or fast?

Also please be aware that while we are attacking Nebraska we are being invaded by a horde of illegal aliens that are destroying the fabric of our society and stealing money from us that we have worked very hard over many years to attain.

You forgot to mention the fact that this guy rules all of Nebraska with an iron fist. He has also killed 180,000 people from Kansas simply because they were from Kansas. We have tried to send people in, peacefully, to make sure he has stopped using these "pipe bombs" on these poor Kansans, but he has disallowed their entry.
Should we--
a) place more economic sanctions on Nebraska, thereby spiriling them further into economic depression and dependence on a dictatorship (something I mentioned earlier, but not surprisingly, you skipped right over)
b) remove him from power using some James Bond BS, have no occupying force, and cause an actual civil war
c) go in, take over, kill him, and bring peace, democracy, and economic success like we did in Japan and Germany
d) take the mineral rights in exchange for being an ally of this guy, look the other way with his crimes, and call it an international humanitarian effort

Does anyone remember what john kerry said? "I don't have the information that the president has." he was voting for the sending of troops without full knowledge( and even he needs to understand not all info needs to be revealed, i.e., cnn telling Osama that we are tracking his cell phone). then, when it suits his political motivations, he cries that he doesn't support the war because he now has all the information because ClintonNetworkNews has hust debriefed him in 45 seconds and 3 lines on the bottom news ticker about all the wrongs of the war.
Osama stated that America was rife with greed, imorality, paganism, debauchery, hatred among other things, and that we were godless. This is exactly what ministers, pastors and preachers try to get across to you every day! Doesn't it hurt that it is true? yes it does! he believed that his teaching taught him that any non-muslim was an infidel, that means godless.he is pure evil as hitler was. he wanted one group too rule the world! muslim extremists.hitler wanted one group to rule the world. *****. He does not care about the muslims he killed on 9/11. he considers them non-willing martyrs.hitler had the means to kill millions, osama is still trying.
If i were deployable i would go back again, but i was injured the first goround over there.
why is it the dems and liberals and one republican want us to end the troop deployment, say they support the troops, call all republicans names, and NEVER have come up with a solution NOR ONE plan or idea to fix the terrorism problem. when you listen to a dem or a liberal, they think that yelling and slandering will make their point valid and correct and will not stand for anyine disagreeing with them. when you try to talk to them, all they can say is BUSH LIED! Bush, as with any other president before and every one after, gathers info from his cabinet and has to make life changing decisions every day and he deals with and accepts that responsibility. does bush want our troops home?ABSOLUTELY. do we have a job to finish? YES we do. it will affect your kids and your grandkids, though some here don''t need to procreate and indoctrinate.
study the facts presented from all sources and make intelligent decisions based on those facts. God bless our troops and please come home safe and soon. thank you for your sacrifice. i wish i could be there with you.

Vader thinks....
"Should I get involved in this one?"
"I'll tick off both sides by showing them how they are both right and yet both wrong."
Vader concludes...

But knock it off...because you guys are arguing in circles and name calling.

Got it?

We support many totalitarian regimes against the people who are controlled by those regimes if it suits our business interests.
We have not brought democracy to Iraq only bloody civil war.
We have not brought peace to Iraq only death and destruction.
Why do you keep brining up the Kurds when for years we supported Saddam all the while knowing of his tactics?
We are responsible for the hell that Iraq has been turned into and you sit here and talk about nonsense as if things are improving there when last Saturday alone 25 of our forces were killed and over 100 Iraqis due bombs from the civil war we that we precipitated.
What has the 350 billion, and countless lives, brought us in Iraq? Nothing!!!
How much more do you think we should invest? Perhaps a few hundred billion and thousands of more lives? And you think if we did that its going to lesson the threat of Terrorists attacking us?
Wake up its over.

Let us know when you are able to present something that one might construe as either a refutation, or perhaps better, an original and meaningful thought.

It appears as though your only source of information on the war is the highly sensationalized evening news. Talk to some of our troops that have been there. Take a look at their pictures. See what any of the guys with a 21 MOS have been up to in Iraq. Its obvious that you think that Saddam's dictatorship would have never toppled. There would never have been a massive struggle for power. I don't get your logic. The regime would eventually fall, hell would break loose. Instead we toppled it, and have kept it greatly under control. Yes, it is greatly under control compared to what would have happened.
What has the 350 billion, and countless lives, brought us in Iraq? Nothing!!! Well, we knocked off a dictator, toppled an evil regime, and are progressing on a democratic stronghold in the most volatile area the world has ever seen.
How much more do you think we should invest? Perhaps a few hundred billion and thousands of more lives? And you think if we did that its going to lesson the threat of Terrorists attacking us? We lost half a million lives and $2100 billion (adjusted to only 1990 dollars) in WW2. We'll round up and say we're at 5k lives. While God knows everyone here hates to lose a single American soldier, that is a damn impressive number. Can you imagine conducting a war so efficiently that Hitler was hiding in his bunker within weeks and we only lost 5k lives?
The reason this war, and the past few, have been over was not because of the lack of resolve of the American soldier or the superiority of the enemy. Nor was it because of a lack of reason for being there. The problem has been the technological advancements that have allowed for the front line action to be seen every night by housewives and househusbands as they eat their fishsticks. The public loses interest and courage, and drops their support for the troops and the mission. The politicians see this as an opportunity to gain some votes, and they decide to switch sides and follow the sheep. And here we are, a war more justified than the European Theater of WWII with implications that are more important, and we have people acting like we just invaded Canada over a hockey game.
Wake up its over.

Answers and corrections in bold...then I'm done because its getting silly. There is nothing wrong with being against the war, but one should have good solid reasons for holding that opinion and should also provide some alternative solutions. A good anti-war (though mainly history) book that you might like and might help clarify things for you is Mansfield's "A History of the Middle East". You see, every endeavor you undertake will fail if you simply say "It's tough, it was a mistake, lets run away." It doesn't matter whether it is something as difficult as rebuilding that mess over there, or popping popcorn in the microwave. If you set out determined to fail and unwilling to see it through, you will fail.
Anyway, check out the book. You may find it interesting, will certainly learn a lot, and it will help out your anti stance a lot.
