You know what they say, "In Texas the weather can change at the blink of an eye".

It's about to storm now.

If you go to weather.com and search for zip: 75701 .... its about 93 degrees now.

We got lucky, it's been mercifully cloudy today... That's what's savign us...
But, I see our brethren out West heated up rapidly in that Yuma/Vegas area...

It's a damn-shame when Northern Cali is 104 degrees... That can't be San Fran, it must be north of there...
Only 93 in El Paso? It must be raining...

Kansas hotter than Dallas?! GTF outta here?! I know those folks up there aren't ready for this kind of heat, no more than we'd be ready for 3 feet of snow.

Did you catch that show on the Discovery Channel last night about Global Warming?

It was pretty interesting.

Time to ruffle some feathers.

sounded like they didn't have a clue what they were talking about.

remember since the last ice age the planet has been getting warmer and warmer. it will keep doing this until it peaks then will will start going into another ice age.

the earth is always changing and evolving. it has for millions of year and it will keep on changing. what data are these experts using to compare the current temps with? they only have data for the last few hundred years.
thats like taking a survey of the American people and only asking 10 people in New York.

No, I didn't see it, but I know Global Warming is a big concern among many scientists. Many believe global warming is teh result of ozone depletign gases released into our atmosphere. I don't know if I believe every thing they say about global worming, or if I don't believe what they say about global warming. All I know is some sort of global warming must be taking place, because it feels like its getting warmer and warmer every year. So, the glob must be gettign warmer, right? Ice bergs the size of rhode island snapping off of Antartica...That's got to mean something.. Global warming perhaps?

Yeah, I do believe Global warming is a possibility, but I also know that of all the industrialized nations, America has done the most to reduce the gases released into the atmosphere, but with our industrialized nations dumping far more pollutants into the air, unchecked- fixing the problem locally (America) is not gonna fix the world, but- it might help... (I was trying to say global warming as many times as I could say global warming, without it being obvious that I was trying to say global warming as many times as I could say global warming.)

I also believe it runs in cycles because 1996 and 1998 were far hotter summers than 2005 and 2006 has been. The difference is, North Texas hasn't seen hardly any rain since 2003, on a yearly scale. However, you can't tell the people in the north eastern US, we aren't getting enough rain.

1980 (barely beat 1998) as the hottest summer on record; but the record high for this day- in Dallas, was 111 in 1957. But, the world is larger than TX; and there's not denying the evidence that since the industrial age, average global temps have risen every year (except those years when Volcanoes release enough ash to reduce them again, 1881, 1980, 1991).

It's always something, La Nina, El Nino, Global Warming, Salmonilla, Echoli, bot flies inserted by mosquitoes, tylenol, terrorism...

There is always something to try and scare us...

It's working...

I remember the summer of 1980 here and I was 10 years old. I could remember walking barefoot and burning the bottom of my feet on dirt. Now that's hot. Nobody said jack about global warming back then.

Global warming is a joke. Pump money into a scientist's office and they'll make up anything you like complete with "scientific data." Give me a break.
