My favorite is when a liberal politician ie democrat claims to support us (troops) but they state that "I support the troops, not the mission". As a military member I know that it is not possible. The troops believe that WE ARE the mission! There is much to be done, we will do it with or without them and I am proud to serve no matter what. They have the luxury of protest due to the sacrifices of those before me, and those who will serve after me. Iran will stop at nothing to get nuclear arms, then they will attack Israel and also synchronize an attack with terrorists. Right now the strategy they seem to have is "wait them out." They feel that we are bogged down in Iraq and now is there moment.Meanwhile, we go through the loooong process of the U.N. Security Coucil and sanctions. The Bush doctrine plainly states that If you are a terrorist sponsoring state, if you harbor terrorists or provide them with safe haven...you are a terrorist. Iran as well as Syria, North Korea and all the others were given that warning during the speech President Bush gave directly after the Sept 11 attacks. Sounds to me like the drumbeat is getting louder...and louder...and louder. We are the United States of America and our job is to LEAD.

I agree whole-heartedly, brother... Only problem is, our ship of progress has an anchor called Democrats that we haven't been able to cut loose...yet. The next attack on us on our soil will hopefully open everyone's eyes to what's going on. If you know someone's coming at you with the intent to hurt you, you strike first, and strike hard. Ring their bell, and take the fight out of them. It's not only 'Survival of the fittest', but survival of the smartest. And right now we're not being too smart.

The Repubs are running ever so fast trying to catch the Dems in effing things up and trying to create some sort of utopia for Statists and big government.

Dubya pulled the wool over the eyes of many not once, but twice. He's no 1990's Republican. A 90' repub fought and argued against big government, excess government spending, and championed private roights and privacy. GeeDub and his crew have pissed on all that many held dear, enlarged the feral government, took spending through the roof, and is working on ridding us of those personal freedoms we're supposed to have inviolate.

So much for 'compassionate conservative', it seems more like 'not quite so far left liberal' to me.

Yeah, but the left will spin it regardless...
If we don't get attacked they'll say..."there is no terrorist threat, the right is using scare tactics..." and if we/when we do get attacked they'll say "President Bush hasn't done enough to prevent this, it's his fault..."

Sad, but it seems no matter what we do the left has to spin it...They own the media.

I really like that people can come here and express their opinions, what ever they may be. It's people like you guys thought, that give me hope for our future.

I've become a news junky of sorts, and it scares the he!! out of me to think that a majority of the country has jumped on the media bandwagon. I was worried back in '04 and at that time the majority hadn't jumped on the bandwagon. I hope that when people are at the voting booth this year they aren't thinking of the two minuet news clip they saw but are thinking of the big picture. A lot can change in our near future right here at home.

And to stay on topic. My answer to the original question is still: not at the moment.

Those in favor of invading Iran can grab a gun and go fight for what you consider is right. I myself would let them throw the first punch and put to use the Nukes. Apparently nukes are not a deterent to some countries. As we have found out in the last few skirmishes no one fights fair. So put the damn nukes to use and quit talking.

Pony_driver...How has the Federal Gov gotten larger? What do you mean by ridding us of personal freedoms? The way the media has carried on and slandered the President is pure proof that personal freedoms in this country are alive and well! Hopefully you aren't referring to the NSA wiretaps...The 911 commision specifically faulted the federal gov for the long process it took to get a warrant to find out specifics about the plot.In reality, the NSA can listen in to any call I make to a potential terrorist, and anyone who has a problem with that has something to hide or is too far left. WE HAVE SEEN THE ENEMY...they live in a sandbox, they breed hatred and they hate you, me and everyone that is not radical islamic. The enemy feeds on our fear, and it thrives on our countries indecisiveness. While me and my fellow servicemembers fight the war abroad, we need you to fight for us at home. We need you to send a message, America doesn't FEAR, America doesn't HATE, America doesn't lose it's resolve and most importantly, AMERICA WILL NEVER SURRENDER. If I have to fight terrorists on my front lawn, so be it. I will do it proudly so some jerk in San Francisco can protest a war they cannot comprehend. I will do it so that my children can know the priveledges we all know, I will do it so that some idiot can put a mexican flag on an AMERICAN flag pole and raise it and NOT be beheaded. I will do it so that they have the right, however ridiculous and back-handed it is, to change the words to OUR beloved Star Spangled Banner and still be free. We are America, THAT is who we are. However, when we do decide to whip some butt, you better believe that there will be no prouder moment for the patriots of our country. I pray one day I am priveledged enough to meet the President, My Commander in Chief, I'd say "Thank you Mr. President, thank you for your courageous leadership under the fire and scrutiny of the media, thank you for not forgetting the heroes of 911 and thank you for not forgetting the promise you made to us all as you stood among the firefighters near the rubble of the World Trade Center. It has been a priveledge and an honor to serve under your leadership."

Let them throw the first punch? This ain't no schoolyard fight were you let the bully hit you first and then go after him with a baseball bat! That first punch is going to cost innocent lives! I pray that it's no one in my family and also that it's no one in yours. Jeez, I hope no one has to lose a loved one in order for us to act...Sorry, but that's a liberal statement if I ever heard one.

Besides, thay've already thrown the first punch...9/11.

"American Girls and American Guys
We’ll always stand up and salute
We’ll always recognize
When we see Old Glory Flying
There’s a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head

My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Until the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flyin’ in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of July

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue

Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And you’ll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
`Cause we`ll put a boot in your ***
It`s the American way

Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue"

See, they even put it in a song...

I couldn't have said THAT any better brother...what 6T6PE evidently doesn't understand is that the first punch may come in the form of a nuclear blast in a major U.S. city. Now, I don't know how many of you know the power of a nuclear warhead, but the types of nukes we are talkin here are at least 365 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb...I'm sure that could be considered more than a punch. Please understand, it doesn't get much more serious than that. Unfortunatley, many won't understand until it's too late.

Who in Iran threw the first punch during 9/11? At the most several 100 were involved with 9/11. Not an entire country. We can't keep going into countries and creating bloodshed because of what a few 100 did. We are supposed to be civilized. We have got to get "those that are responsible" for 9/11. We are turning into a country like WWII Germany. We are only stirring the pot and creating more troubles for ourselves. Do you believe that the insurgents in Iraq will give up or run away? Our "experts" said early on there are only about 3-5000 of them. A few hundred people who were responsible for 9/11 has resulted in probably 100,000 deaths of many who are innocent. We are killing everyone except the ones who are truly responsible.

Rumsfeld and Rice are upset and complaining that Iraq isn't becoming independent quick enough. As I recall no one asked Iraq for a new government. We invade and then complain to them about their downfalls.

We are not the worlds Master. We are one country of many. This is not a game of Risk. We create many of our problems. The world hates us. And as long as we keep bullying people there are gonna be those who welcome the challenge.

Ground wars are obsolete. If this country has a problem with another then take them out and quit dragging it out for years.

So the answer is to level any country that has nukes? What gives us that right?
