How to use your fog lights.

1. Fog lights are not for use in clear weather.
2. Fog lights are not for use on a cloudy day.
3. Fog lights are not auxiliary headlights so that you can illuminate the 100 yards in front of you like a baseball stadium.
4. Fog lights are not the same thing as Day Time Running Lamps. If you dont have DRL's, Then you dont have DRL's. Deal with it and stop pretending that you do.
5. Fog lights arent required when your driving down a crowded freeway.
6. Fog lights shouldnt be used even if it is foggy when you have another car 15 feet infront of you.
7. Fog lights are not ornamental. Leaving them on doesn’t make you look cool, it makes you look like an inconsiderate idiot.
8. Even if it is foggy, you dont need fog lights when driving around in a parking lot.
9. Fog lights are for .. are you ready? .. FOG! or other low visibility conditions.

Sorry, I just had to vent. It seems that there is an ever increasing number of drivers out there that dont understand the concept.

I always use my fog lights since I paid for them as part of the vehicle…

There was some guy I think from Canada that had a major problem with people using fog lights and I told him to use sun glasses at night and it wouldn’t be a problem anymore for him…

Could always start an organization like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) except you could name yours POD-A-FLU (Pissed Off Drivers Against Fog Light Users)…

By the looks of Podunk's gallery, it looks like he is a truck driver. That means that he probably spends quite a bit of time on the road. If everyone here drove that many miles per day and per year we would probably all have much more to bitch about as far as pet peeves of other drivers.

Not to mention that he does have a point. I may have fog lights on my truck, but I hardly ever use them because I am rarely in a low visibility scenario. I just don't see the need in turning them on if I am not even going to be able to tell the difference anyway.

Auto lamp switch on. Fog light switch on. It gets dark. Lights come on with fog lights automatically.

You DO have better visibility with fog lights on regardless of weather condition so any argument that fog lights are only relevant in fog is complete BS and a myth…

OEM fog lights are NOT going to be pointed in on coming drivers eyes. Those who install aftermarket may if not installed correctly. I have rarely ever had a problem with someone’s fog lights blinding me.

Now, if you want to talk about morons that don’t know how to turn their brights off with on coming traffic that is another story…

Since truck drivers sit much higher then normal vehicles I don't understand any argument that fog lights blinding them can be a problem...

I am sure it is more of an annoyance than a problem. Do you ever have anything that gets on your nerves, even though it is not a problem for you?
