I know.

I was watching a QB Challenge one time in Hawaii....Dont know the name of it, but Troy was the only one to score a perfect score on that challenge.

Aikman was a great QB, but not even in the top 3 (maybe the top 10). He had so much talent around him he couldn't help but win 3 Super Bowls (I watched him play very closely in 2 of them; it was very painful as a Bills fan). Emitt Smith was the heart and soul of that team. If Dan Marino (and I hated him as a good Bills fan should) ever had as much talent around him as Aikman he would have a couple of rings. Elway won two with less overall talent (not much less though) around him. What does it matter when in his career he won them? Elway went out as a champ, Aikman went out punch drunk.

Top 3 ever (biased I'm sure b/c of my age)...
1. Joe Montana
2. Bret Favre
3. Dan Marino

all I am saying is, if I were to pick a great one..he is on the list of top 3..yes he had 2 great receivers in Irving and Novachek(sp.?), yes he had Emmitt....but a sucky quaterback with thos weapons wont win a superbowl..look at detroit...Barry "better than payton" Sanders????

First, Aikman didn't suck; I acknowledge he is probably in the top 10. Second the Cowboys offense in that era was stacked at almost every position, including the o-line. Their defense was tough too. Third the Detroit Lions have never had even half the talent that the Cowboys did in the early 90's. Sanders was incredible b/c of what he did behind a crappy o-line surrounded by a series of crappy Detroit teams. After watching the Cowboys beat a tremendous Buffalo team two years in a row, I maintain that they would have won those Superbowls even with a lesser QB, the rest of the team was that good.

I am with you on detroit..they ruined his career, he could have been greatest of all time.

also, I agree with you ont the amount of talent Jimmy brought to the boys. I just dont see that the cowboys would have won those without Aikman...Remember the second super bowl against buffalo, we were behind to them at halftime..then aikman came out and Threw touchdown after touchdown to win MVP

Yep -- talk about wasted talent with Barry Sanders rotting away up in D-town! As a Viking fan I had to sit there and look at Wayne Fontes' miserable mug on the sideline twice a year for what seemed like an eternity!

What about Steve Young? That guy waited in the the shadows of the great Joe Montana and had a couple great frickin' seasons. He took more hits from running it than anyother QB out there. Plus, he and Jerry Rice were unstoppable.

oh yeah, I never liked the cowboys so was never an Aikman fan---sorry!

What makes QB great is more than just numbers....it is leadership. Aikman had that for certain.

If I had to take one of the following to win one game give me Aikman.

Elway, Marino, Favre, Manning, Young.

He was a field general and led that team.

In reality the list is hard to complete after Unitas and Montana, there's way
too many great ones too list fairly ...
Elway, Aikman, Marino, Farve etc.etc.etc. ...
Okay, I have to take up an issue on this one. Brady is nothing without Adam Venetari the kicker (sp?), this kid has had a selfless TEAM around him, and a hell of a defense in the clutch, covering his *** for four years. Check the Super Bowl records, Vinitari is always the deciding factor for him. He is a very good quarterback, but not top three. Manning on the other hand is a great quarterback and with a half decent Defense could probably get over his mental block of the patriots. Where was Brady when the Pats got stomped by Miami last season, the biggest joke of the league.
I hate the Patriots more than any team in the NFL simple because that golden boy gets credit for what a kicker has repeatedly done for him.

Roger Staubach who would get crushed if necessary if it meant winning
Joe Montana who could throw on the run better than anyone, and most likely
Peyton Manning if he can get over the Patriots, he will make Marino look small.

Sorry jztbcz, I wasn't intentionally targeting your picks, just despise the NFL's pretty little poster boy. Cool
