with that being said, check out (if you havent already) the triumph brew pub right across the street from the campus. their food is on par with their awesome beer.
that campus at princeton is a real nice place to visit.

Dear Billy -
This is why I wrote the date(s), the 6th or the 8th.
Are you in Princeton, or are you just recommending the place? I know where it is (on Nassau near Washington) but have not been there. I don't drink alcohol (never liked it . . . . yuck) however, if the food is good . . .

i live in new jersey, and we usually go there a couple of times during the year. we just like the area there, and particularly that restaraunt. i do love the beer, though that is one of the few brew pub places that i have been to where the food is on par with what they brew. the rariton (sp) canal runs nearby there also, with a nice bike trail along it. we have ridden that many times, then taken the bikes into town to grab a bite to eat and walk around.
one of the last times we were there, my wife and son and i were walking the campus and my wife said something to the effect of 'son, if you do good in school, you could come here some day'. i said 'thats right alex, there are alot of older buildings here and they will need good plumbers and electricians to keep them up and running.'
i think my son was 6 or so at the time.

I'm hoping Leeann will read this thread . . . and that maybe she's in the Princeton area . . . maybe she'll invite me to dinner while I'm there since y'all aren't / won't / whatever.

OK, back to ask Kobi,
Why do people set their alarm 50 minutes ahead of when they really have to be out of bed and hit snooze five times instead of just sleeping through to the actual time that they have to get up?

Back in a previous post where I responded to a number of your questions, (post 139 if I'm not mistaken) I touched upon how you project your anger about your poor typing skills into a cynical world view.
And now, you ask why PEOPLE set THEIR alarms 50 minutes early and then keep hitting the snooze button and not getting THEIR asses out of bed when THEY should.
Now, 'fess up . . . you mean you, don't you!? (Wow, that sentence looks weird).
The post I read should have looked like this, should it not? . . .
Don't worry dude, it's OK . . .
Right now it's around 6:30AM I had set my alarm for 7:30AM, so in my case I woke up more than 50 minutes EARLY (more like 90 actually) before my alarm was set . . . so see, people don't all do this.
But hey, I'm gonna cut you some slack, and acknowledge that, yes, many folks do just as you described.
So, why do they do this? Well, if you were to ask a mattress manufacturer, like Select Comfort . . . for instance . . . they would tell you that it's because you're not sleeping on their mattress. I'm not sure if that's true . . . it might be . . . but the only way to find out would be to buy every mattress made and see if this "hit the snooze over and over" ritual continued.
Actually, this brings up a little side note opportunity here, I always thought that the best job in the world would be Mattress Tester. This way, you could sleep on the job 8 hours a day and never get in trouble for it. Plus, you could offer to do tons of overtime, and not be exhausted at the end of an 80 work week and therefore have plenty of energy on the weekends for the family! If there are any mattress manufacturers out there who need a mattress tester, I'm available! I haven't worked in almost 5 years and I'm getting bored. I'd be a hard working employee, and never late! (Shameless self-promotion over...sorry)
Where was I? Oh yeah, Personally, I'm not sure if I buy the "you need a better mattress" line. Mostly I think it's because the snooze-button lobby forced clock manufacturers to build snooze buttons into every alarm clock. Once there, people naturally took advantage of it. In other words, we're all victims. It's not our fault. Blame the snooze button manufacturers.
Continue sleeping.

Actually, I usually wake up before my alarm and just get up (I don't sleep well... I think we have an answer to the anger and cynicism), but you are right, I am lazy as heck... anyway, I've noticed this behavior in my college roommates and now my fiancé. Since you are always right I was looking for some confirmation that 50 minutes of uninterrupted sleep must be more re****l than being rudely awakened every 10 minutes and just dozing off again until 10 minutes later to start all over again...

No argument from me . . . I totally agree with you on this.
However, just because that's the case, it does not mean that people will behave in accordance with what is logical / right / obvious / whatever. And even if they were to get that extra 50 minutes of uninterrupted sleep, when the alarm went off then they'd still hit the snooze button . . .
Which brings us back to why . . . which brings us back to that we are conditioned to do so, which brings us back to a cyclical thing . . . sort of like hitting the snooze button over and over again . . .

Dear fatman66-
First, if there are typing errors in this post it's because I'm typing with my thumbs. I ws killing some time so I decided to check the thread . . . on my SidekickII. I read your last post and decided to respond immediately . . . on this little device . . . it's THAT important!
Fatman . . . DO NOT try to figure out the Illuminati's plan, or expose them, or whatever. In fact, it would just be best if you didn't mention them ever again.
I'm not saying they're real, or not. I have no knowledge - or opinion - on this. In fact, I'm not even writing this response . . . someone else is.
What were we talking about? Oh yeah, sleep. Sleep . . .that's a good idea. When I get back from the gym I'm gonna do that.
Take care
